Having Kids Is Bad For The Planet?

The chairman of Britain's Sustainable Development Commission announced in a conference that having more than two children is in fact a major cause of earth's destruction. Sir Jonathon Porritt stated that federal funding of birth control and abortions as well as encouraging citizens to recognize their responsibility to take care of the planet. Do you agree with Porritt's statement or is he just shooting into the dark on this subject?

as long as you take the responsibility to care for them then i think having more than 2 is fine
the earth can only substanably hold one billion people.
right now were almost at seven billion.
Humans are killing the earth and nobody cares.
I never suggested we actively cull the herd...
The problem DECLINE is so bad in some first world countries that they are offering generous payouts to couples willing to have any children.
When the older population successfully limits the young in their desire to have more for themselves - the reply of the younger resentful generation that is left to care for them will be more ugly than the abortive practices of the old. The elderly will suffer that same disregard for human life they themselves taught the young.
The unwillingness to suffer with the needs of the young through will be visited upon the elderly through forced euthanasia.
The only exception might be illegals...they should be spayed immediately!
