there's a rather large Amish Population
close in distance to the farm ..
it is an easy drive ..
to get to the Amish Market ..
(and we also enjoy their Butcher Services .. )
(they make the BEST Butter and Cheeses .. OH, my .. )
Love it :)
Personally I have been through Amish country a few times. I am not afraid of them. I feel sorry for them a little bit. I hope they are OK. I hope their children & their animals are OK.
I have spoken to some of them and they are friendly. We smile and wave when we pass their carriages and they do so in return.
I have seen them in parts of Reading area and Lancaster counties but I have not had a chance to speak with them. I hope that I get a chance to do that some time too.
There's no time for sin and vice living in an Amish paradise.
I was shocked, I actually saw a horse-and-buggy on the street around 8 AM in the morning, in the snow!

fresh bakeries. Love the Amish
For me, their life would be boring....but they are doing well..they are secure with themselves....something few of the rest of us can honestly say...Good for them
There are Amish communities in other areas of Pennsylvania too, as well as Ohio, Indiana, western New York state, and elsewhere.
