Growing up my dad had health issues so we had to eat turkey instead of beef. Honestly there is not much difference. The texture is a little different but the taste is the same... to me at least. But everyone is different. Try it and see

Seasoned right, it makes great burgers, goes great in chili, and is a good replacement, but when you get right down to it, it's not better than beef, in my opinion. Ground turkey just doesn't have whatever it is that makes beef so welcome in the mouth.

Tried it! I like the real thing better. Not saying if thing got really bad, then I would use it.
Not saying thing are great, just that I still can afford the real thing.

All the time. Meatloaf, burgers, mince, meatballs, sloppy joes.

I'm allergic to beef so I tend to use ground turkey or chicken quite a bit.

I usually use beef mince. I do like pork mince and lamb mince. I feel like mince needs to involve red meat though. I tried chicken mince and didn't much like it.

Leaner and cleaner to cook and when made correctly it is far better for you.

Exactly. Cant taste the difference. The only thing i have found is that some turkey has a lot more salt than beef, but you just have to keep an eye on the labels.

When you grow and harvest the turkey yourself you avoid all that.

I've tried it. I probably would like it if I ground my own. But, the stuff they sell in the stores has the skin and gristle in it. Bird skin is pure cholesterol and I hate the texture. I might could mix it half in half in a patty or something that is highly spiced. Otherwise, no.

I grind the breast with pure, no gristle, very dark meat, into a mix. add a little seasoning and do patties. I also grind it very find and do a loaf then slice it VERY thin and make 'bacon' out of the same mix. Really quite good.
