However, I was a police officer for just over 10 years and there were a few times that I cam as close as you can without actually firing. It's like they knew the drop dead line at which point I would shoot them. Actually, there were a few times that I would have been justified in shooting them, but luckily, it all worked out.

No, but I shot and killed someones doberman dog once when they directed the dog to attack me. I was on the job at the time doing process serving.

Then the owner of the dog was arrested for using the dog as a deadly weapon, they got a one year sentence from it.

I felt sorry for the dog that it had that kind of an owner that trained it to harm others.

No I have not TRIED to shoot someone. Hope I never have to. But in my line of work I carry a concealed gun at all times. This is for the purpose of self defense as well as for the protection of my customers. Like I say...hope I never have to - - - but I will.

I have twice drawn my concealed carry weapon in defense of myself and others, once the offending party dropped his weapon before I completed my draw and aim sequence, I held him at gunpoint until police arrived. The second time the bad guy had less sense, I did shoot him, I didn't "try", I did. I did not enjoy it, I was only glad in that my friends and I were unharmed after a confrontation with a criminal, I have nightmares, I go to therapy and I would do it again, in an instant, for any innocent person, to any lawless aggressor.
