I spend a lot of time in the politics section so absolutely.

The sad part is I get along with most Sodaheads and don.t go out of my way to antagonize anybody but in life you get the occasional Won.

Crap. Meant to say yes, but I guess it wouldn't matter either way since I don't care for them. They had this huge discussion with me. They judged me before knowing who I was. Both of them on one of my answers. I fired back, they didn't reply. They both blocked me. Yup, a double whammy.

First thing's first, I don't purposely get online to annoy people unless it's in a fun forum or category and everyone knows I'm joking. I don't instigate something I can't finish. They couldn't finish it, but they started it. I'm proud that I was blocked because it meant that I stood for something they couldn't defeat.

I doubt it....although I'm not real popular with a certain crowd here that's for sure.

I was blocked by an alleged catholic nun. No number of hail Marys can redeem me.

Dissed by the sis? What did you say? No never mind, I probably don,t want to know. Just hang in there and don,t take it personally.

Actually, I should have said "Don't know don't care." I assume that some of the people who've blocked me consider me an enemy, but maybe not. Maybe it's not that important to them either.

at least they pretend to hate me. I report them when they are abusive. sometimes I'll admit they get away with murder but SH has deactivated some after I reported them a few times for personal attacks, and I hope they will do more. You should not have to block people to get them to stop their personal attacks.

You're better than I am foxhound. I welcome personal attacks, that gives me cart blanche to really get nasty.

I don't think you're "worse" TJ. I, myself, welcome a lively debate. You don't need muscle to pin someone to the mat.

Personally, I don't block and I don't report. If someone continually writes things I don't want to read, I just scroll by and ignore them. I think that it is a far greater insult to behave as if that person were of so little importance that I couldn't be bothered blocking them. If someone blocks me, I consider it a badge of honor. It means they are too chicken to face my words.

And, I would NEVER report someone...except for a threat against someone's life. Running to the mods seems, to me, too much like an 8-year old tattletale whining to the teacher. "Oh, Miss, he was nasty to me...*sniff, snivel*." Sheesh! If someone isn't adult enough to deal with words-on-a-monitor, they need to find another hobby.

They aren't even a blip on my radar...of so little importance to me that I could not be bothered whining to teacher. If I didn't already consider whining to teacher to be reprehensible.

The rest of us want a civilized polling site. If you come calling me names, accusing me of things, or attacking me personally just because you don't like my question or something, then you get reported. You can tell me anything you want about my opinions, about Obama, whatever, but not about what you think of me. I am not your punching bag.

Being reported will only empower you if you think getting kicked off of SodaHead is empowering.

We'll have to do the agree-to-disagree thingy, won't we? We look at this from two opposing, and irreconcilable, viewpoints. You see whining to teacher as a form of empowerment.

I see it as childish and not what I consider adult behavior.

It doesn't bother me a bit for someone to "call me names". "Calling names" is as much playground behavior as crying to the teacher and I consider people who do it as sub-adult. So....I give them the respect I'd give any immature person who has reached mature years. None. And, I ignore them.

IMNSHO, there is nothing more frustrating and insulting than for a person to get all wound up. for them to post a screed full of nasty words and for them to realize that their target is yawining.

Well, I respect yours. Perhaps the problem isn't so much that people are nasty to you but that you are a teensy bit oversensitive. It's a tough world and growing a thick skin might well be helpful.

lol I wish. If they would let me unleash the fury within, I wouldn't need to report anyone. I would just rake them back and forth over the coals until I get bored, which is usually a while after they have run away crying. lol

That seems like a better choice than running to the mods. You can "unleash fury" without using nasty words...in fact, the educated adult should be very good at that.

The Chinese used to have a death punishment called "The Death of a Thousand Slices". A tongue can be as sharp as a dagger and, often, leaves wounds that bleed 50 years later.

And, all in good, proper, educated language.

When I figuratively rip someone's head off and shlt down their neck it ain't pretty. SH is no place for that. I'm not going to mince words. I'm going to be all about you, your mamma, your daddy, and anything else I don't like about you.

I am sure I have...but really, I don't care..I have blocked a few people but only because I do not tolerate unnecessary ugliness. There's no need for it...what I say is my OPINION...period...

Some people don't like me, but enemies? I hope not. I don't take the internet personally and I tend to lose interest quickly. There are people that I dislike, but I usually avoid replying to them.

That depends. Do some people consider me an enemy? Sure, one person told me in so many words. Do I consider them enemies, or myself their enemy? No. This is the internet. I do not interact with them nearly enough to gain that status, though I do appreciate the flattery.

I tend to everywhere I go. I don't kiss ass, and I don't flutter when my ass is being kissed.

I agree with what you say, and one of your images. The blocking thing is all wrong! True of some, or maybe most people. But not myself! I block people all the time. Never because they have a different opinion than my own. When someone cannot articulate their opinion, without use of insults or condescending attitudes with misinformation only to support their 'knowledge of the world'; And a clear willful ignorance to facts. = Block and move on.
