Have you lost a beloved pet?

Over the last couple of years, quite a few of our Sodahead friends have lost their beloved pet! My most lovable friend lost his sweet little girl just last month- and now.... barely even a week ago, another sweet friend lost her handsome ol' guy, Murphy--!!

It is quite sad that our pets don't have as long life spans as we do.... but they sure do make a grandstanding impression while they're here!!! :)

So, let's all come together and celebrate their lives.. and the impact they made on each of our lives and our families' lives while they were here with us!

Please tell us your favorite thing, or your favorite memory about your furry little friend(s) who's waiting for you at Rainbow Bridge, and let's celebrate their lives & souls~

I lost my Benji (Pooh Bear) a Pug 3 years ago , so sad he lost all feeling in his hips could hardly drag himself to his water bowl and then had no control of his bowels. The vet said it was time. I miss him until this day. There was so many things that made him special. We played and everyday when I came home he ran to greet me. I think of him and tears come. I have his ashes , his collar and favorite bone on a shelf. He was a blessing never forgotten

You and our other friends here really helped me cope when we lost Kodiak... I hope you had the same kindness put forward to you- that you gave to me.

I know also that you've had some recent 'scares' w/Mr. T... that I hope will not recur, and that he is doing much better now, my sweet, sweet friend.

Mr T is taking meds for his condition and has not given me anymore scares, thank God I wish I could find another like Benji but so far not . Sharon my heart goes out to you and SS because I know how it is to lose a pet. They are like children to us and also best pals. I think often of the picture you posted of the dog waiting by the door. MrT does this only he sleeps by the door waitin and listening

Ellen my sweet friend, I know exactly how you feel. It is like losing a family member and we cherish everything that is theirs. I still have his toys in a basket where I placed them when he was through playing at bed time. I can't think of doing away with them when I get home I will post his picture . Life has many heart aches but the memories linger and with wonderful friends for support we hang in there :) :) <3

She was a real sweetie. I still have Willow, Maine coon cat, Huckleberry, orange tabby, and Akira--big dog. :)

She was a beautiful kitty and I know how youust miss her. I had a Maine coon kitty he was so friendly and he came up missing. I believe someone took him. I looked all over and never found him

MIZ it really is. I looked everywhere but no kitty. He was to friendly . He would be in the flowers and all you could see was his tail standing straight up this is what he looked like

She was a very special cat. She got a cold--took her to the vet, but she just never recovered. She was only 11, which meant she had a good, long life, but also that she should have had a few more years. I am blessed, though, with the pets I have now.

We lost our rabbit Thor, our parrot Sean and our chinchilla Smoky all within 18 months. We still have our precious Golden Mix, but she's ten. Losing a pet sometimes hurts worse than losing people because pets give us such unconditional love. The photo of your dog looks like a lab we used to have named Pete. He was such a character.

I've definitely been there. I don't have pictures on my computer, but the beagle (Stacy) that I grew up with got hit by a truck when I was in High School. Later on, another beagle (Bianca) started having seizures and we had to put her down, her brain was so scrambled she didn't even know where she was most of the time. That was one of the hardest decisions I've ever had to make. Anyone who says a pet is just an animal, has probably never had a pet!

We had to make that decision w/Kodiak too... he had bone cancer and nothing they could do-- to bring him in that day was the hardest thing we've ever had to do as a family...

I remember well how sad you were, but you know it was the right thing.. it brought him peace and he knew how much he was loved!!!

I agree Heff.. I had a Weimeraner once.. a nice girl.. she started having epiliptic fits
and eventually she had to be put down too.. it was so hard.. but she was suffering so much and would often get hurt.. it was a blessing that she passed away.

Heff this is so true. Pets are family and loved. I left Mr T to long when we went to New Orleans and he was mad at me. He showed me he was the boss. I had to show him a lot of attention to get on his good side sort of funny but he was serious
