not to my current job, it takes 45 min to drive there....I cant imagine how long it would take to walk it.

When I was poor and between jobs, I got a job at the local grocery store a block from my home because I could walk there and not worry about the expense for transportation

Often, when the distance wasn't greater than 2 to 3 miles. And a better convenience wasn't available. Such as a friend, bus, train, or car. Never had call for a plane. Ha,ha...ha.

Yes, during the last two years of my 34 year career with my company. I lived 38 miles from my workplace and to get rid of the 2-1/2 hours of commuting back and forth every day, I found a house for rent across the street from my office and I lived there during the week and just went home on the weekends.

I walk out of my bedroom to my office, then into my kitchen for a drink of milk, then to the bathroom, then back to my office, then back to bed

When I taught and was principal out in western Kansas I lived less than a block from school. What was neat was the last year out there was my grand daughter's Kindergarten year. I walked her to school. Yes, she had the principal walk her to school every day.

I have walked, jogged, ridden a bicycle, driven, and even rode a horse once. You can't make any money if you you don't show up so by any means necessary I get to work, or rather I did before I was disabled.
