Have you ever visited The Vatican?

No. I'm not Catholic, but I would like to visit the place that has had such an impact on people's lives for hundreds of years. I'm a big history buff.

My father has and he said it was like a modern day version of Jesus and the money changers

If the church runs true to course, I'm sure I've been banned from the Vatican and my picture is at all the gates with a big red X through it. Too bad, I know there are many beautiful art treasures there and it would be something to see.

How long have you got? I was Catholic all my life. Even converted my husband to the faith. I was in the choir, a Eucharistic Minister, took communion to the homebound, ran the Pre Cana Program for engaged couples. I did everything they asked of me. Then I went to work for the church. When I saw all the crap that went on, from the child abuse scandals, to misappropriation of church funds, excess in the living arrangements, verbal and psychological abuse of employees. And the final blow was when they assigned an accused child abuser as interim pastor. Let's just say when I left, I did it with a flourish. They won't forget me.

Yes, I spent a whole day there and St. Peter's Basillica last November. The collection of artwork, the Sistine Chapel, the sculptures were indescribably awesome and beautiful.

My friend and I spent an hour just sitting and looking up at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. Pictures do not do it justice.

I'd have to pass!! I'm not Catholic either, but I am a Christian. The Vatican, the Pope and proposed supremacy, the State, the show and the absurd amount of money, designated as a tithe for Gods work, spent on bullet proof golf carts, costumes and extravagant buildings! Seems against the command from God which can be found with the 10 commandments! #2 of 10

The people I know who have visited it say the amount of wealth involved is just sickening, considering how many of their followers live in squalor.
