It took my dad a long time to get over nicotine. He used gum both anti-smoking and regular bubble.

I've quit a few times and started again : ( I do know that if one doesn't really WANT to stop, no amount of drugs or quit smoking aids will help much. The desire to stop has to be very strong otherwise more times than not one will not be successful. Kudos to all who have never smoked!

Quitting smoking is the easiest thing in the world to do.

I've done it a thousand times.

I successfully quit for 2 months once. I bought American Spirits because I hate them. Then I got a job and started again. Quitting is really hard when you work at a place that sells cigarettes

I think if you have a lot of coworkers who smoke, that adds to the frustration as well.

I 'tried' to quit 3 times over 24 years of smoking. I successfully quit 1 time. I used Chantex which works if you want to quit, if not then you will not quit. It can take from 3 months to 6 months depends on your will power. It is free from most insurance providers. I will tell you, after you are done, there will still be urges, there always will be due to the way Nicotine affects the brain. But I wake up every morning and can smell things the way they should smell, breath a whole lot easier, and do not feel like crap anymore.

I tried to quit 10 times or more before I finally asked God for help. I prayed about it, & He answered my prayer last summer. I've been smoke free for 12 months after quitting cold turkey..

Went cold turkey several years ago... Must say it was the hardest thing I ever did... Today you have the patch, gums, smokeless ciggs, and many other options.

I quit. I asked my doctor for some help. I forget the name of it but the medication is an anti-depressant. It took a couple months to quit.

    Have a nice day !

I only smoked less than a pack a week in the 1970's, never smoked since. I don't like smoking, never craved smoking.
