I found out Wednesday that July 31 is my last day of employment. I've been in the forestry profession for 25 years working for corporations. I'm thinking about starting my own business as a consultant.

In my opinion is the most superior, environmentally green clean machine on the planet. No one has been able to do this, since electricity was discovered. My machine is better than Solar Power, Wind Power, Nuclear Power, and Hydro Power. It is better than all the rest. And it cost less to build.

Yes opened a car repair shop, and I also had a lawn care business and a bicycle shop. we made payroll and never cheated anyone, not even the IRS.
And yes President Obama, we did it by ourselves re-mortgaging our little house twice to rescue then business, and we lost big when each businesses eventually failed. You won't help your destitute brother, why should we expect you to help us?

yes...owned and operated a restaurant for more than 30 years...retired now...but wouldn't even consider it today...too many rules and regulations...

Yes, a couple times. I'm self employed now, it's not difficult and if your boss is a jerk, you have no-one to blame but yourself.
