I've experienced some 12 in my close range. Never lost a home, but had 2 different cars picked up. one pushed forward a little and the other was turned over and spunn. All the rubber hoses and tirs seats and stuff didn'y mslr it. I'm lucky to be here too
Yeas, a big one! Watched it from a motel parking lot in the Oklahoma panhandle. Very sobering experience watching it devastate everything in it's path. Fortunately it was a sparsely populated area and nobody was hurt as far as I know.
When I was 10 years old, a big one touched down in a vacant lot across the street from where I was standing. After touching down, it went right back up. I was too amazed to be scared.
(grew up in the Midwest .. have dealt with repairs after Tornadoes too)
