Paradoxically, some of them were black. In the end people are still to concerned about appearance instead of personality.

You misread my meaning. I am not talking about going round beating up and verbally abusing black people, we just joke about it amongst ourselves and our non-White friends. We do have a natural preference for White people, but we don't actively hate black people.

I try and not use the word hate it implies I care, prefer to use the term despise. It carries a dose of venom which does not attach itself to you as a being.
I get where you are coming from.

Had a black NCOIC in the army who put black soldiers (that he called "brother") up for promotion ahead of me-- soldiers that I trained and took extra details for when they disappeared during duty hours. They'd all sit in his office or in the break room while the rest of us were pulling sick call, and you could hear them making fun of the KATUSAs (Korean/US troops) and the SGT never made any effort to hide his contempt for whites.

I had major time in grade, so I should have been promoted AT LEAST because of that. And I worked my butt off because somebody had to-- even when they could be found, these pukes weren't interested in treating sick or wounded soldiers.

I saw quite a bit of that in the service, actually-- happened to a lot of people I know. :O(
