When I was a kid. We'd call strangers and say things like, "Hello, I'm conducting a survey, could you tell me if your refrigerator is running?" When they answered "yes" we'd crow, "Well, you'd better catch it!" Sort of hard to believe in hindsight; the shear stupidity and joy of childhood!

When my friend and i used to get bored at sleepovers we called people on her cell phone that i didnt know and i'd just say "MI CASA ES FUEGO! MI CASA ES FUEGO!" and i hung up, kind of stupid but it killed time lol

Of course I have. It was fun when we were children. Calling grocery stores and asking if they had Dr. Pepper in a can. Silly stuff like that.

Those were the days. My friends and I would call the pizza place and order a nasty pizza or we prank random people. It was a lot of fun.

My friend and I called one of her friends from my phone, and went on and on about how much 'fun' we'd had at the party he'd been to earlier in the week. He'd been really drunk at the party, and got really freaked when we told him all the stuff we'd apparently done together. It was hilarious.

And we often call people and just play 'Payphone' by Maroon Five down the phone to them.

Ohhhhh yeah. Back when I was in high school and on the Knowledge Bowl team, our bus rides from meets seemed kind of long and dull.... so my friends and I started a tradition from the first year all through high school where we would "prank" call companies. Or at least what we would consider prank calling....
Examples~~
During the tiger woods scandal we called Mountain Dew and said "You should come out with a limited edition of Mountain Dew Code Red with Tiger Woods pictured on it... you can call it Mountain Dew Caught Red Handed."
Little Debbie Company convo-----
"Is Little Debbie there?"
"Uh, no."
"But I met her at a party and she told me to call her at this number. What did you do to her? Is she locked in your basement, sir?!"

when 911 first came in , in Miami, i wanted to try it out. I was about 7or 8 yrs old, so i called and the dispatcher ask some questions and i got scared and hung up.. Will guess what, they called back and guess who answered, "My Grandfather", i don't remember what was said but i do remember the talk my grandfather and i had. I never did it again.

Also i thwarted a prank directed to me. i worked at a produce market in New York. one night a guy with a thick brooklyn accent calls and says : is this top bannana ? i say yes. he asks do you have apples ? i say yes. how bout broccolli ? yes i say. Do you have cucumbers ? yes... are they fresh ?...yes are they firm.... I hung up the phone....lol. you know what was coming next. i can take a joke as well as anyone but i was in a foul mood that night.

OHH YES. Many years ago, my friends and I used to get 'doe poppers', which are little tubes with doe urine inside and a cotton swab at the end. Doe urine smells AWFUL. We'd snap one and put a little bit on the receiver of a pay phone. Then we'd hide and call the payphone (from my mom's cellular phone) as people walked by and when someone would answer we'd try to say whatever we could to keep them on the phone. Pretty funny back then.
