  Sadly, I've lost more than a few. Chemical dependency is an insidious thing. I'm lucky to have survived it myself.

  I'm thankful for that, I did have a close call one time when a friend OD'd though. Thankfully he does not use coke anymore.

  sister Jean's post remained me that I actually did loose my Grandfather to a drug. That drug was alcohol and cigarettes. We think he had PTSD from the Korean war, but back in his day they did not really know what that was. So he just medicated himself with beer and chain smoking. it was not unusual to see him with a beer at 10am and then drink them all day.

  My brother went to Vietnam a crazy mixed up kid and came back a crazy mixed up drug abuser.

  Being an ex drug addict myself it was nothing new to find out someone I knew overdosed and died... Though of all of them only one really upset me and that was my friend Brandon. He was the one person I knew actually cared about me while I was on the street. He looked after me when I was 19 living on the street of San Francisco never had even been on my own before. He was like my brother (until we started sleeping together that is lol but that didn't last long we realized we were better friends then lovers). The suckiest part I do not know what happened to his body was he creamated barried or what...

  half of my friend circle growing up croaked or are in prison due to drugs and or alcohol..the rest have sobered up and want to be left alone

  Most of my brothers and sisters. While only two have actually passed away, the rest are dead inside.
