I lived in a jeep for a while, here and there... on a few occasions. And another jeep, a few years later. :O) Not quite the same thing, I know-- but the freedom is a pretty good trade-off for the inconvenience of it all.

I know what you mean, I lived in a tent for 9 weeks between moving my life from one place to another, it was minimalistic, uncomplicated and I have never felt the same level of freedom since.
I haven't but I so want too and will Missile. You know how much I want to. Who would not love a house on wheels? Think of all the places you could go with the weans (that's the K9s to you Yankies by the way) Woof
I spent about 10 weeks one summer traveling across America & Canada with my grandparents on an RV trip. They had a 31' Airstream trailer (not a motor home, but a close cousin). It was a great trip. Seeing the country from the road instead of the air gives you a new perspective. All of the interesting places and small towns that we went through... and the best part was having the same bed every night.
We have a smaller one and it is great for vacations - we take our dog and cats, have all our clothes and refrg/stove/ all the household stuff with shower etc. Great way to travel - and we sincerely enjoy the ease and our own stuff.
