Nev Schulman, the star and creator of the MTV show "Catfish" that follows Internet dating hoaxes, has reached out to Notre Dame football star Manti Te'o and offered to help solve his girlfriend hoax.
Te'o and Notre Dame claim he was a "catfish" victim when it was revealed that the woman he said was his girlfriend and died of leukemia never existed. The "Catfish" television show was spawned by a movie of the same name in which Schulman tracked down a person who pretended to be a young woman he had met online.

...alright, there were a few times in the past when I tried to convince people that I was Batman, but I've gotten over it now.
to tell you and that is on an individual basis depending how much I trust a person.
I don't reveal much of my personal info and I'm very careful who I give my phone # and my whereabouts to. I learned a valuable lesson once in telling people my personal info
or giving out my phone #. You can't trust everyone. That being said, I won't lie because no one is worth me lying for.
But I would not pretend to be something I am not, in order to defraud another. What you see, is what you get.
