A Service made available to certain folks who are interned or elderly, and other criteria for Phone service, in MO: the Dept of Social Services and Elder-Care run this program, and we have a neighbor age 81-who now has a cell phone because of this Program.. I am 100% for this.. and thank Our Govenor for suggesting this program back about 3-yrs ago, whereas Kansas Shot the Program down as being too expensive, but then again it's GOP state

I've heard of it .. (similar to the Medical Alert that is part of my security service)
.. I've contracted for Medical Alert as part of the service I have and it has been helpful indeed ..

Ok...From what i see here...Our lifeline differs a little from the USA lifeline!!!...WE also have the medi-alert (lifeline in USA)....A VERY valuable & lifesaving service!!...& For what it is worth...Lifeline should be a free service for ALL elderly & disabled!!!... :))

a service you pay for monthly that connects you immediately to the service, when you send a signal, or can speak into a cell phone, or transmitter, if you are injured, or have fallen and to injured to get up, or in one case I heard of, someone was having their house broken into....anyway, the service, calls whoever you designate, and send police and emergency units to assist...they advertise on TV all the time....my mother in law had the service and it was good, because she was elderly and lived alone when she fell and broker her hip, and another time when she had a gallbladder attack and couldn't get her breath.

It's a low cost phone service for people who meet certain requirements. I know several elderly people who have it...I believe it is government funded at least until someone decides that the elderly no longer need help keeping a phone. I think the free cellphone is part of this plan also....although I've heard complaints that the cellphone is a rip off.

For a lot of seniors a phone is the only way they have of staying connected to the rest of the world...I back the lifeline program 100%.
Hope you have good luck with your cell phone.

it's an alert system that's hooked up to your phone so if you fall or have an emergency assistance will be sent

Generally speaking, but not always, it’s for people living alone who are in poor health; it’s a caring service.
