not really - people get really mad!reply - Katfish 2012/07/29 09:07:01Yes+1New Orleans, where I parked was deemed a parade route with no significant markings. Another form of tax collecting.reply
- ParkMan 2012/07/29 02:34:21Yes+1Yep - I parked on the side of a street in a snow storm. When I woke up the next day it was towed.reply

- Georgia50 2012/07/29 01:31:31No+1No, but I once threw a party and a number of my guests got caught up in a paid parking lot scam. Once a ticket gets dispensed and taken out of sequence, the parking lot let each person at the machine walk off and place the wrong ticket on their dashboard. (The lot number on the ticket must match the space in which the car is parked.) So even though they paid and had a valid--albeit mismatched--ticket on the dashboard, their cars were booted. Fortunately they all paid with credit cards and had all the evidence they needed to get the charges reversed.reply
- sjalan 2012/07/29 01:22:02Yes+1ONCE I parked behind a bar one time and came out and reported my car stolen. The police said it had been towed. So I took a cab home. Funny thing, When I went after it at the towing yard it cost me nearly nothing and I got an apology from the tow company. Seems their contract had run out the week before and since they didn't have to split the tow with the owner of the property they towed me from I got off lucky.reply
- Squatch 2012/07/29 01:20:57Yes+1Was aggravating too! It would have been way more of a hassle to go to court, so I just ate the 50$reply

+2TRUE THAT my best friend was stationed in Norfolk. He experienced tickets galore in the Navy he got a dui (1980's) paid his dues and when he returned to NJ after he finished his service they took his license away again from that DUI in VA months maybe yrs. prior.I guess double jeopardy doesn't apply with Dui/Dwi ??????reply - Bob, th... +1blocks from the beach they will ticket you for parking on the street. The ticket will say parking in a non-designated/illegal/posted area...it's a lie. There are no signs, they just want to funnel out-of-towners to use city parking garages and make sure they charge you for parking...reply - VERYwis... Bob, th... 2012/07/29 01:33:16
+2In Pa I parked in front of my house for a few minutes on the main drag (allowed) and there were no signs came out there was a ticket? I looked for signs and there were some beginning about 100 ft. down the road no parking between these signs at such and such an hour. The sign(s) wasn't there I went to the former mayor down the st.,a friend and told him he said take it up with the head of the parking dept.I did all this in a 1/2 hour.It wasn't worth my time or effort the guy was dense,so I paid.Btw the Jersey Shore is notorious for the same BS In fact the show in Seaside Heights I know well had friends that lived there. In the summer tourist season they hire 100's of rent a cops and have ordinances for everything you can think of for cash. You'll get a ticket for climbing a fence, yelling etc,etc,etc....That show is so staged like ALL unreality shows those nitwits would be arrested every single night. And they have been. :)reply - Bob, th... +2When I was in college during the winter you had to park on streets and avenues alternate days because of snow plows. There are signs that specifically say that...no problem right? Well, I did a summer session and the cops were issuing tickets for illegal parking....I fought back on that..wrote letters to the editor, had a petition signed by hundreds of students, wrote the mayor, raised hell....they stopped giving tickets to students during the summer!! WoooHoo!! This was in the mid 80's...the tickets were only 5 bucks, but I was fired up on the stupidity and the deliberate focus on college students' cars near the campus...reply - VERYwis...
