With occasions like Valentine's Day and school graduations coming up, it's no secret that many will celebrate in the form of a drink or two. And while toasting with a glass of wine is typically not a big deal, things get a lot more serious when driving is entered into the equation.

Whether you've been in the car with a driver under the influence or felt a little hesitant driving after a couple drinks yourself, we wanted to gauge your own experiences and opinions about drinking and driving. So let's get to it with this Drinking and Driving Survey. And don't forget to be safe out there, folks.

I have cdl and I have driven my personal vehicle after drinking knowing the consequences but also having knowledge of the road. which is in fact still wrong even if not impaired. the times I use to get plastered I never drove. I put the keys under my bumper and used the parking lot to sleep it off. I don't drink anymore accept when I go a five day camping and canoeing trip with friends and that's when we all tie one on. but as for drinking and driving I say call a friend if you feel a little numb lipped. even if you were involved in a minor fender bender and it was their fault your still going jail. don't waste your high on dwi.

a drink or two. whatever. try six pack.
  • cc 2013/02/15 07:51:31
...more like a pitcher or three...

That's why I don't drink, and have been clean and sober since 1995. I know that I can drink and drive. 99% of that is the sickness and the other 1%....well I AM that good! HAHAH...

Truthfully though...the culture of drinking and driving is alive and well...and we need to keep cracking away at it.

    Yeah right.

I wil not have more that one drink if I am driving. You could kill someone and that is a really severe consequence. It is not worth it.

A few times. I always just crash on the couch after having a few more and risk it the next day, though.

As long as I can drive with one eye open I'm good to go.

yes everytime i drink out of home...

on my way back, usually late...when no traffic is around...i feel a force making me floor it, and with the rush that you get, its horribly difficult to pull it back.

Better to live in NYC in these situations.(.that must be why it costs so much to live there.) Two drinks my limit where I live, unless there's a designated driver,

Because I KNOW that I am after just one or two. Even after five I am still nowhere near the legal limit, but these days I don't chance drinking that much before driving.

Don't ever drink and drive when I was 10 years old, abroad with friends at a restraunt I was ill that night so the friend's dad who was supposed to be caring for us let me go and sleep in the car. I was out cold. When the rest of them returned to go back to the hotel the mother was argueing about who should drive. It was decided that she would drive as she was actually sober. She went to the loo before the long journey and the father got in the car and drove off leaving them behind and with me asleep in the back seat of the car with no belt on. He crashed into a bus stop. I flew out through the windscreen and severely broke my arm collor bone, neck and skull. Glass was embedded throughout my body from head to foot. I woke up downing in my own blood. I was lucky to crash outside a hospital which saved my life. The father has committed suicide due to grief. The family blame themselves

  • Tom 2013/02/13 19:13:04
I always give myself at least 1 hour per drink before driving.
The clock doesn't start until I finish the last one.

VERY rarely.... but if I did... I would linger or hang out in the restaurant longer
But someone of my size a drink or 2 I would not be intoxicated
  • Icarus 2013/02/12 16:47:37
No, never. If I'm driving I don't drink, and vice versa.
