Yes, but it was such a beautiful day out, I couldn't resist!
Yes I did it when I was 17 working part time in a local shop. David Duchovny was in Edinburgh for a film premier and I was a HUGE X-File fan and wanted to go and try and see him, but I was due to work (4 stupid hours!). My mum told me "You only live once!" and she called my work told them I was ill and accompanied me on the train to Edinburgh. I ended up getting David's autograph and picture and more importantly I made a friend for life that day. I am glad I listened to my mum.
When I had two jobs, I would sometimes have to call in to the one that paid less and tell them I was sick when my work schedules overlapped. But I technically wasn't getting OUT of work, I was calling in sick so I could GO to work.

Sure have--drank a cup of coffee then went to the first aid station, by the time I got there, my cheeks were red and my temp[?] was at 100--works everytime--nurse had to send me home.
but once when I was a kid I held the temp stick over boiling water to get out of school..my mom busted me though ..I would have been dead had I had the temp of a 107 degrees!!!!!
