Hey, have you ever been homeless!? (I have)
I give money and/or food and/or socks and/or hats, scarves, and gloves in the winter...and if I don't have any of that stuff, I at least say hello.
Have you ever enabled and encouraged homelessness by giving the homeless money?

Maybe PLAN A should have been to work for food.
It's called having an income!

Jesus gave to the poor.
Can you give me some raves for being such an awesome productive member of society?
Oh, and 1 out of 4 are veterans of our military, WITH good paper. They deserve help, IMHO.
I do not like to give money to the homeless as a rule. I have fed them by giving them food
The ones that I most dislike are the ones that stand with the signs at the street corners. Many to most of them do just that for a living. I also can't stand the ones that come to you with some line like "I am out of gas....I need to get my wife...I need to get to a job interview but..." I hat those most because it keeps me from helping people that really are in a bad spot.
All homeless have a different story. Some want to be homeless, Some are on drugs yet some are really just down on their luck. It is hard tho tell. Their are cities that do more to help the homeless and other that do not help at all or just very little. I know that Fort Worth has more shelters and have done more to have a better place for them to go than in Dallas. In Dallas they seem to be all over. but in Fort Worth not so much. I think that is because Fort Worth has done more to help so they have a place to go rather than be out all over.
I do know this. We have always had homeless and I bet we will always have homeless. It would be nice if that was not so but I do not have the answer to this problem.
I could go on an on but I will stop here.
I am a little puzzled by those that think giving the poor a helping hand will make them lazy, but giving to someone who's so wealthy they live on investments alone and keep all their money in off-shore accounts so its tax free will make them work harder. Hey, they don't work and more money for them won't ever change that.
"blessed are the poor, woe unto the rich, for they will inherit the kingdom of Heaven"
"what does it profit a man to gain the world and lose his soul?"
That said, many homeless are ex-veterans. They have physical and psychological disorders that make holding down a job difficult. Lumping all homeless people together is kind of assinine really.
