I was visiting the home of a buddy of mine while I was in the Navy and his grandfather had some he offered us. I took one swallow of it. I believe the term used to describe it was 'white lightning,' which was far more accurate than 'moonshine.' :)

Once 'sampled' a whisky... usquebagh-baul (perilous water of life) ..178 degrees proof... if you drink much more than 2 tablespoons .. you could be paralysed for life... its like drinking electricity!

Once, age 16. Cutting grass in 100+ degrees and one of my smartass friends brings me a glass of ice and what I thought was cold icewater so I leaned my head and poured about half of what I thought was icewater down with a big gulp and when I saw the mushroom cloud my knees buckled and I awoke a few minutes later sick as a dog and drunk as can be and I laid there and thought, if I live I'll get that bastard but the main thing was I survived and got even

That's true, good shine tests out at 95.6%, that stuff is only 80%.

where did you get those numbers? what the hell is 95.6? your dog's temperture? that "stuff" in the manufactured, marketed, and distributed bottle is 80 proof, or about 40% by volume alcohol. Think I might put it on my xmas list...lol...

The highest percent of alcohol that can be made without using a vaccuum is 95.6% and that's what good moonshine has. When I looked up that product, it's alcohol content was listed as 80%.
