No, abusing cough syrup can cause liver, heart, kidney and brain damage, an accidental overdose if it doesnt kill you can put you in a permanent coma. Mixing it either on purpose or accidentally with other other drugs raises the risks substantially.

Is getting high worth being a vegetable the rest of your life?

I drink cough medicine for headaches. It is much more effective than pain reliever pills I used to take.

...because Mormons STRONGLY discourage the use of alcohol and caffein, (the caffein in Pepsi is okay, though; the Mormons own a big piece of Pepsico) and Utah's laws reflect that dislike of spirits..

This behavior pisses me off so bad!!! As a person with a number of medical conditions that have no cure AND cause chronic pain anytime I see someone accept medecine they don't need to get high it makes it THAT much harder for people like myself who actually NEED the medecine to get it. Just about every dr is unwilling to help those in chronic pain because of jokers out there selling their scrips and doing all sorts of nonsense and this threatens the dr's license . Please, if u must, just drink to get high or better yet how bout live life straight and clean!!! What a novel idea!

I have to agree with you,many people who suffer from chronic pain are often denied the medication that could alleviate it because Doctors are worried about losing their licenses due to the stupid regulations of the D.E.A and you're right it is due to the people that have abused medications
