Yes, just a few months ago....first time.and literally could NOT breathe, I was choking...my son was home and when he came back into the room I was in, I pointed to my throat and he preformed the Heimlich Maneuver. What I found strange, even at the time, I wasn't scared. Just thought to myself, well, this is it....I'm gonna die, and I will be ok, Sean will know what to do...both thoughts at the same time. One more bit of info, and I would appreciate NO snarky remarks about my religion, but I prayed...in case I didn't get help in time, I prayed for my sins, and for my kids to know that I loved them.
Yes. It was many years ago but I remember ti distinctly. It was the first time I had something stuck in my throat and I couldn't breathe in or out. Luckily, I had the presence of mind to throw myself over the back of a wooden chair and the pressure on my abdomen made the food pop out. It was very, very scary.
Usually I choke on stringy melted-together-and-then-hard... cheese that you get in Taco Bell's quesadillas. I have to pull it out or swallow it and no one notices me choking because I can't make any noise. Once when I was little, I swallowed a quarter of a hot dog whole, but I didn't choke. It just went rather uncomfortably down my throat.
I also choked on the lid to a shampoo bottle when I was a baby. I know now that it wasn't food, but back then, everything was edible, so it counts.
