Yes, I was in- BETWEEN apartment and house one time. I was mistaken about my move in time when I had to give up my apartment. There was a one week difference instead of the one day that I was expecting to stay in a motel... I finally ended up sleeping in my SUV for about four days........ I don't recommend it. Thank goodness for Walmart letting people park their travel trailers there for a few days.. I fit right in......... the walk to the bathroom wasn't so great though.......

Yes. I got sick, couldn't work, couldn't pay the medical bills and my wife and I had no home. I could not get medical care because I could not afford it and was not working because I was too sick to work.

I hit the wrong button. Answer for me is still "no" but I have known people who were homeless so should have hit that one instead.

And should add that knowing those who were homeless makes me even more grateful that I never have been and more empathetic to those who find themselves in that situation through no real fault of their own.

Well sort of, my husband stayed at a campground for a year, it was his first year after high school and it was cheaper than renting a place.

I am poor though. It sucks, it really does. That is why I am going to college to end the cycle of IGNORANCE and POVERTY LINE living in my family.

And I know someone who was, and someone who is about to be. When I was, I slept in my car. I also slept in abandonded houses. There are approx 42 houses empty in the us for every person homeless.. Yeah, it might be a tresspassing charge at least if you get caught, but its better than sleeping outside. If this is going to be you, send me a pm.

I empathize but thankful to say I never had to do it..But had clients who did when I was representing indigent people. The up side of the trespass violation charge was, for them, that they got the opportunity to spend ten days in jail where they got three squares, showers, bed and blankets and opportunity to use a real toilet. People who have never been homeless don't even appreciate those things or think about them when they hear the term "homeless" most of the time. Had clients who would do some fundamentally harmless misdemeanor (chuck a brick through the window of a vacant house or business, then stand there til somebody came to arrest them) so that they could hopefully get sentenced to jail for six months...rash of that kind of thing about October/November when the weather started to get really cold.

Im not surprised honestly, having spent a day or two in county myself -- never for that mind you.. I saw several of those types of people come and go.. Most people dont know what jail is like, and if they did, they wouldnt be so willing to blindly follow the lobbyists from CCA in their push for longer sentences and tougher penalites for increasingly less severe non-violent crimes.

not technically, like staying in a shelter or sleeping outside homelessness. but my parents have managed to get us kicked out of my grandmothers when we were staying with them, so we had to stay at my sisters 1 bedroom apt. then another time when my mom got us evicted and we had to stay with my aunt and uncle...then ANOTHER time my dad decided to stop paying rent and move in with his new girlfriend and i had to stay with my lovers parents for 2 months. so no, i have not been without shelter, but i have lost the place i somewhat called 'home' many times.

As a kid. With the mom. In Indio. Slept on a piece of cardboard, covered with an old tarp, under an old dead tree out in the desert. There were other people camping out there, but they had tents and food and some even had makeshift toilets and battery opperated TV's and radios. We were even outcasts among the outcasts. We had to walk three miles twice a day to get food, in the winter, out in the empty desert. Not to mention that I had one of the worst viruses I had ever had. Couldn't stop shaking, and had cargo running from both ends. I'm a ten year old boy at the time. try walking three miles in the freezing cold, with chills so bad you can barely bend your legs, and you wouldn't want to anyway because you had diaharhia. When people who have most everything they need want to bitch about losing a little bit of money, or someone calling them something, even wanting to commit SUICIDE over it, then maybe they should just do it. I have fought death and won, so don't be whining about some random profile that's probably just a robot anyway that chooses to disagree with you or when you have to pay bills, or your car is busted. I have no sympathy for it.

after a fire burned our apt building down. the red cross only helps a little bit,the salvation army is a crock of crap and the city is too. basically we had to fight with people ever single day to stay in a shelter.

For 3 months in a 1992 Dodge Colt... with a roommate. It was a new car at the time. I suppose that might count as having a home- just no address.
