    On a thread called how would you react if you found a Klan robe in the trunk of your friends car would you remains friends with that person. In my usual humorous manner I responded if he was my good friend (I'm Black) he would be the worse Klansman ever. Someone called me a racist because I didn't believe a Klansman would have Black friends...... True Story!!!

    You don't know where I have lived and under what circumstances. But I agree that we all have different experiences. In our own ways, we are both correct.

    Marinerfh, As a Spanish surnamed person I have been told to "Go back where I came from" by fools. I am American and my family has their roots in America for generations.

    Don't know the people or where you live, but I've never been told that by any black or Hispanic person.

    But, I choose my friends carefully. It is the foolish ranting of strangers I get disrespect from. They are shocked because I choose not to speak Spanish. My family and friends consist of all different racess.

    It is the ones I don't know who will say things to me in English because they think I don't speak or understand anything but Spanish that give me a headache. Again, it is the rantings of fools.

    Where I live I see a lot of racism by Hispanics against whites. It goes both ways. We are really not in disagreement.

    Some people use words like racist, homophobic, anti-Semitic, etc. as communication killers, just to shut down valid arguments. It's all too common here on SH.

    Several times and it bothers me to be called that just because you disagree with Obama on some issues doesn't make you a racist . My response is just because I believe gay people should have the right to marry I guess makes me gay .

    That's anyone though, I gave a challenge to my liberal friends to just try and criticize Obama and see what happens, I said criticize anything, they don't even have to mean it and see how their treated by their liberal friends.

    Only indirectly, on SH. I've never called anyone a racist, although I've witnessed what seems to be racism, and what is clearly racism, on SH, and in real life. Overuse of the word, has diminished it's meaning.

    It really doesn't count being called a racist by people who have no idea what racism actually is on Sodahead. I have never been called a racist anywhere but on Sodahead, which if of course because I am not racist.

    It's true, I don't know how many times that just because I'm white I'm automatically racist, google the term "all whites are racist" and you'll see a lot of it out there, I know black conservatives who are called self hating uncle toms or even worse just because they're conservative.
    It's a sad world we live in.

    So many times, and all because I do not agree with the policies of Incumbent nor do I agree for-the-most-part, major part actually, of "His" Administration starting with EPA, Justice, DHS, Interior, HHS, and the rest of the alphabet.

    I said a black ladies make up was ugly and apperantly that made me racist.
    If you're make up is ugly and I'm asked about it I'm going to tell you that your make up is ugly. I don't care if you're white, black, gold, red, blue, purple, silver, have 10 arms, or if you have snakes for hair.

    Oh, and one time I called myself a skinny white bitch and my ex (who is half-black) jokingly called me a racist.

    But those are the only times.
