I was there. I was also at the original WTC on the observation deck on the 107th floor in tower 2 back in 1992 on a date with the girl who is now my wife.
When I was a kid, we visited my stepfather's family in New York and went up the Empire State Building. It was a fascinating trip. I've been to New York several times since then but not to the Empire State Bldg.
My memory is failing a little. I believe it was 1938-39 we went to NYC. I think that we could only go as high as the 65th floor. I was a little guy and scared to death looking out. I think I still have similar fears of heights.
1968 summer, walked up stairs on that and the Washington monument and the Statue of Liberty on the same trip rode the lift down on all three however.....just as money sometimes is wasted on the old energy is sometimes waste on the youth. LOL

It must be the camera angle because the top looks more round than usual. It should be straight angled.
What is the building to the left and behind?
And the view from the top is stunning. Would scare the crap out of a person who was afraid of heights, though!
I've SERIOUSLY avoided structures like this ~
Figure if I can't throw a rope, in case of emergency, I'll pass !
Never been a big fan of heights, anyway, except for flying, of course ;0 )
Yay! Plattsburgh.
Live in Dallas, Tx. now.
I would rather be in a small town.
