Have you been a victim of slander and malicious rumors?

Life,get one.

To be honest I don't know, but I knew someone else who was a victim of slander, people went around saying he was gay.

I've been the recipiant of small accusations while I was in school, like cheating on a test or making out with someone else's girlfriend. That sort of thing. Nothing major.

If you were ever on Yahoo Buzz then yes you have been slandered ,impped oh and every other thing possible and why they shut it down.It went so far with me that someone put an imp of me on a dating site..with a not so flattering profile I may add.and I was not yet divorced Disgusting and childlike behavior,that made everyone question everyone...no one who to trust.But many of us have reunited here and will do a better job at looking out for each other.Best advice report and...

I had somebody slander me. As a result, we ended up in court because he accused me of threatening him with great bodily harm. He was trying to get a restraining order against me. Two days after he submitted the paperwork, before the preliminary hearing, he called my cell phone. The judge wasn't too pleased with him wasting the courts time. A few days later, right before the second hearing, he cancelled the request for the restraining order. It cost me about $1000 in lawyer fees.

The best part about it????? He died of a heart attack not too long after that. HA!!! Problem solved.

My wife was slandered by some jealous ex-friends. It ended up costing her job over that false accusations of theft and abuse of patients at the nursing home. We couldn't sue because the low-life liars were living on welfare at the time, and had nothing!

Yep, got screwed over on that one, too.

Oh yes. Very much so. And I can prove it.

My mother in law told my son she would not be surprised if I poisoned his daddy with anti-freeze. Where the loon got this ideal I do not know. Over the years she has told many stories about me..........she is not well mentally I don't think.

Back , in my drinking days I imagine.

My Ex-Husband told a bunch of lies to his friends and family about me, saying that i beat my children. I didn't, but i did beat him, LOL!!!

And found out that he was a very good friend.. He hated me for my success. And hate is just jealousy.

and even when people realize they made a mistake for jumping on the band wagon....there's no way to unring that bell :(

I have been the victim of nasty gossip, so I try very hard never to do what was done to me.

I actually don't know if I ever have... either way.. I wouldn't really care because the people who know me... KNOW me.

I would not do it myself because it is wrong

It's happened a few times in my life. Fortunately, nothing ever came of it, but it's not a comfortable place to be.

Some Jerkwad told everyone I was a slut and pregnant in ninth grade.

Someone accused me of being a gentleman.

On the Internet there are three ways to look at it.

Slander and rumors seem to be a past time on these kinds of sites.

A rumor went around one time in fifth grade that I was a lesbian. It wasn't started for any particular reason, I guess, just because someone decided they were bored. Perhaps ironic, I would turn out to be bisexual but at ten years old I didn't know anything about sexuality and neither did many of my peers. It only circulated for one night though. At a skating rink. LOL.

Someone once accused me of being a nice guy.

That happened to me when I was about seven years old. A slew of rumors, that I didn't even connect with me, culminated in my nearly "getting reported"--except that on that day, there wasn't anybody available to "report" me to. That saved the principal from having to untangle the web of lies--because it didn't even get to his office. After that spectacular failure, it stopped.

Its amazing the power of being anonymous. People believe they can say or print anything they like. Pardon my language, my dearest Rock, but Karma is a bitch and it will come back eventually to bite them on the bum. I haven't been slandered per say on SH, just a few names and remarks about my faith and sexuality, but I have been slandered in the past.

Yes, I have been slandered by President Obama.
He has slandered all good and true Americans that believe in this great country and do not believe we need to apologize for all the that America has endured to become the most desired place to live on the planet.

That may be true but that is probably because we don't usually try to make an impression. beside who has heard of Australia anyway?

The rumors were started by my own cousins when we were in high school. they were telling my ex at that time that I wanted him back and to leave his gf (who was pregnant at the time) to be with me. I ended up getting jumped the last day of school before Xmas break. I ended up in the hospital And when school started after the break I missed about a month and a half of classes. I was lucky my dads middle school coach was the principal of the charter school I ended up going to cuz there was a long waiting list. The school only has like less than 100 students so wasn't so paranoid every time I turned the corner.

Yep. Guilty until proven innocent. Problem is, there is no way to do that. Oh well.

Yeah, and I do believe that is what has happened to Herman Cain.

i have had friends get mad,due to different opinions,as far as slander or rumors,none i am aware of.

Somehow, I suspect that you are younger than 45. As you get older, it is bound to happen. I hope though that it does not.
