Of course I have! Every companion animal we've ever had (the only exceptions being a kitten from an unwanted littler someone had and 1 guinea pig that was being neglected at a school) has been a street rescue. Every time, they were near starving to death. Some took a little while to warm up to us, but most were immensely grateful right from the start. Without exception, every one has been a well-behaved, affectionate, rules-following member of our household. A rescued animal never forgets that it was you who saved them. I look down on people who BUY companion animals while millions of them are killed every year because no one sees them for the treasures they are.

My mom and I used to live with my grandparents and my cousin and I found a litter of kittens in the backyard abandoned. I live in another house now but they now have at least nine cats now.

I wish that everyone would spay/neuter their pets so we wouldn't have the millions of unwanted ones that are killed every year!

Yes, my beautiful all white cat with one green and one blue eye was rescued. My female pit - I stole it from a "gentleman" that breed pits for fighting. Don't forget to spay and neuter.

To the Humane Society's "NO KILL SHELTER." I donate time and money to them for taking the strays I find.

It hurts my heart to see strays. A couple of times when I wasn't in a position to do either, I bought them food.

Several years ago we had a pack of feral cats that were in the neighborhood. One beautiful Siamese was getting in the pack but got hurt in a fight. It nearly ripped her ear off. Because I was occasionally putting out a can of tuna she made her way to my door. I brought her back to health and then like she was saying goodbye she went by the front door and scratching like a dog to get let out. She spent the rest of her life under my porch. I never did take the time to name her but everyone called her the cat under the porch.

I have a problem with it, I know I do. So, I usually try to find someone to adopt it first, if I can't take it.

3 cats, but not at the same time, one white kitty died after i took her home, she had a smashed lung, my brother took a black cat home when he was little, and one cat found her way to our yard, she always slept in my bed at night and cought all the flies and mosquitoes buzzing around me so i could sleep, last year, i found her dead in the basement and i hadnt seen her for a long time..

Many. Sometimes they were just lost, and I eventually found their 'owners', sometimes found good homes for them, and some of them stayed with me for the rest of their lives. I've never taken an animal to a shelter.

Most of my pets were homeless before us rescuing them. We only have one no kill shelter, I have 5 dogs already, so when I find a stray I take pictures and post them so the owner can find its pet, if no one calls I try to find it a home, if unable then I take it to the no kill shelter.

Six out of the 7 cats we have had were strays. I think they were previously owned because all but one of them was tame and friendly. After our last cat Mr. Shadoe shoeman passed away 22 years old we were not going to have anymore pets, but the Vet told us, you will have another one, they find you. Sure enough have another one.

We use to loive on a farm and people use to dump their animals there all the time, it was so sad, both of my cats were cats that were dumped there and we have taken litters of kittens to the shelters.
