why would it, this site is for peoples opinions and for us to decide from there

i try to help others. i try to witness. but i dont yell at people who arent christians, i dont judge them. everyone has their own belief. and i respect that. but what i cant stand, is when the uptight christians who wear skirts 24/7, think music other than hymns is bad, and that we are worthless little rats give the other, fun loving crazy christians a bad name, and are automatically judged as uptight and prude.

Here AND personally, yes. Being raised by Atheists, I became very curious about religion, so I spent years extensively studying several different spiritual belief "systems". I found more questions about them than answers, but I found the core moral teachings good. Then I met several "Christians", who acted far from how I believed they
should, IF they were true Christians. Yes, that did turn me away from wanting to be one. I do not like hypocrites, never have and never will. I ALSO believe that Atheists tend to be hypocrites too - celebrating Christmas and Easter makes them hypocrites for example. Either you ARE what you believe, or you are NOT, there is no in between.

Define 'so-called Christians'.

It was the hate I saw from Christian Fundamentalists from the 1980's that hardened my heart against being a Christian, not just SH.

The "pinnacles" of Christianity on this site have done little but disgust me.

My opinions were already in place before I joined SH. SH. just reaffirms my thoughts. It makes me sad to see people get their knickers in such a twist over it, say horrible things to each other.

Not at all. My Love of God has no influence from the actions of individual humans who do not display the full range of idealized Christian behavior. How can anyone expect perfection?

Moreover, I've studied closely the behavior of Christians on modern social networking forums for a few years now. I'm certain there is an increased level of hostility displayed, that was not present some years back. I'm also certain there is an easy explaination for that.

Chistianity has been under deliberate social attack from two prominent entities (Marxists and Islamists) for at least fifty or more years and until recently Christians have been mild, timid and meek about that attack. To be mild, and to turn the other cheek is Christian proper behavior as urged by our Lord, correct? Well Christians are getting fed up as of late and pushing back. You're witnessing a reversal of the attitude and behavior which allowed the incursion of Marxism and Radical Islamism into our culture.

I find it funny that the ones who proclaim loudest about anti-Christian behavior are the Marxists and Islamists. Well, don't worry. It's just a little rudeness, which may seem like the end of the bloody world to some of you, but is hardly indicative of massive moral collapse within the Christian ranks.

And like I said, it may not be perfect behavior, but try and see the bigger picture.

The people they condemn who never knew God would probably think differently.

Think how sad it must be to never known God, and be told He hates you. They should of been introduced to God better.

We are to be Christ like.... and I see no one doing that while condemning sinners. What did Jesus do with sinners?

I've never been a religious person, I was told about the various faiths and to look into them before believing anything a true believer told me. I took that to heart and have looked over various religious texts and think most of them are man made.

Christ's message was a Simple one, But for some reason far to many people have a Hard time understanding. We were Taught not to Judge Others Jesus Said "Let he without sin cast the First stone". Yet far to many who call themselfs Christians spend most of their time throwing rocks. The Lessons taught to us By Jesus were simple as you stated in your First Paragraph. His was one of healing, humility, peace, love, and compassion.
