For some reason my alarm keeps going off for no reason. It only happens at night. Nobody is out there, all the doors and windows are shut. Nothing is wrong with our key fob. There's just no "duh" explanation for it. We end up having to get up multiple times per night and shut it off.

I thought it was for no apparent reason at first, then I realized that I had parked between a 1973 jalopy in full drag and a hummer maxed out on steroids. I then realized that if I were an expensive european model, I would have screamed too.

Sounds like a short or electrical malfunction. Take to dealer before you end up waking the neighborhood in the middle of the night.

I guess I should. It was raining all night last night. Maybe that had something to do with it. It never happened before!

Water can definitely cause a problem, even with house alarms.

You probably have a door pin shorting out or the computer is malfunctioning. Factory systems are pretty fail-safe. When they go they go expensive.

My sisters car alarm went off while we were driving and we couldn't turn it off. That was a fun day LOL
Yours may be that you need a new car battery and the battery is just dying slowly that happened to one of my cars

The car has only 650 miles on it! Got it in Aug. and don't drive it that often. Once or twice a week.

If your battery is faulty or slowly dying it can make the alarm go off I would get it checked or try a different battery on the car and see if it still does it

but I thought it used to. Figured out that it was the buses going by. I had a small, light car and the wind from the passing bus would set the alarm off all the time. !

Since we moved to Boston, we didn't bring our cars here

You don't need cars in Boston?
  • Deanna Juli 2008/01/18 12:22:22

Boston is a very easy town to get around. We have a great public transportation, we live on Beacon Hill and my husband works at the hospital which is a 6 minute walk from our home. Usually, when we travel we fly. From time to time we rent a car. The parking situation in Boston is lousy. We do not have garages attached to our homes, you either have to park on the street, if you can find a place or rent a garage that is around $350.00 and up an month, car insurance is over the top in MA. A lot of people think it's an inconvenience but it isn't.

JuliMy alarm has a mind all its own. It goes on when it wants to. It goes off when it wants to its totally useless,so many alarms go off that no body pays them no mind anymore.Their just a nuisance.

yes and no..... my car has an alarm but doesn't work and if it did work it wouldn't make a difference since my side of the car doesn't lock....thus making no sense for having the alarm.....ah 1980's car rule!!!!!!
