    Manufacturing?
    What for?
Just to be penalized with carbon credits, the EPA, FDA, IRS, EOC, NRC, USDA, ObamaCare, and every other government alphabet soup bureaucracy?

Americans are not in the position to buy in large or vast amounts. Europe is having issues as well. China is the only country I know of that is experiencing run away growth, and most of that is because they devalue.

The upset of the monetary flow is to blame, the bankers are waiting for the $1.2 quadrillion derivatives market to pay off... you can thank a bipartisan effort that occurred back in 1996 for the effects Bush and President Obama had little to do with it save for failing to act and stop the eventual disaster.

    >Implying there was ever a real recovery. The truth is a lot of the GDP "growth" was government spending or gigantic wealth transfers from the banks to the richest 1% of 1% (more debt). Most people were still losing 40% of their wealth in 2010 even after the media started talking about a bogus "recovery" in 2009.

The meddling of Republicans and Democrats are both to blame for the past and current downturns in the economy. Of course it doesn't help that the rest of the world is continuing to spend and borrow just like us, but if we truly were able to rebuild our domestic infrastructure, we would be fairing a lot better than we currently are.
