    Mother nature is biased
Non-immigrant birth rates have been declining for the past 30 years as well as marriage rates and divorce rates have skyrocketed since the 60's women's movements in Western countries. Here's more info: http://your-perception-is-you...

Initially feminism was a reaction to chauvinism. The modern feminist movements strikes me as not so much a proclamation of the value of womanhood as a declaration of sexual liberty. It seems to state more that modern woman can be as licentious as their male counterparts than woman has an innate value that transcends their sexuality.

It seems that what was originally a demand to be viewed as something more than a sex object and casual plaything to be used whenever man desires has morphed into a movement that requires woman to be viewed as a sex toy and plaything to be used whenever woman desires it. There seems little feminine in the modern feminist movement.

Never in history has woman been so undervalued. Respect for woman is far more than equal pay for equal work. One need only examine the growth porn industry to see just how little value is placed on woman. Then there is the problem of sex selective abortions on the rise.

It has helped religious men see that women are just as valuable as they are.

No, not so, we do not want to be like men, are you kidding? Men love war--no way. We just want to be considered and equal partner. What do you think men acting like women constitutes?

What is feminism? If you defined that I could answer better.

Marriage is supposed to be a bond: a sharing. What does feminism have to do with sharing? I don't get it.

The feminist movement. You don't need me to define it. Respectfully, flaca, you should already know what it is.

I truly don't Frog. I hear the term but I never see concrete identifications of what it is. Do you?

Ok, then study up on it. I don't have to use up this post to explain it to you.

so feminism is about women having the same rights as men... right? How would this threaten a marriage? I wouldn't dream of marrying a man that thought he was above me.

So being a feminist means thinking men think they're above you?

no feminism means women and men are equal. And right now that's not the case or there wouldn't be the glass ceiling. And if you think it doesn exist you need to figure out how many women are in the corporate workplace and how many hold postions on the boards of the companies they work for.

I kinda agree with that.. that is one way the movement has helped our society. I would love to be a judge one day and I am working off my behind to get to where I want to go. It's not fair for me to work so hard and then to be overlooked because I am a woman. For some to say, "oh she has children so having a man would be a better fit." Or even for some man to be paid for than I if we do the same job and give the same effort and time.

A lot of men do think that way, they are called male chauvinist pigs.
We women are equal but different, just accept us.

The movement is broken up into 3 different waves. The first, second and third. The first wave dealt with helping women be equal-get the right to vote, have property in their own names (The women's suffrage era..)
The second wave deakt with everything the first one did but also women's liberation.. I think that is when the pill was introduce into society.. this wave was mostly on the reproduction of women..and with the pill now women could "control" when they got pregnant.

The third wave is still going on is one that I do not really understand.. this one was kinda saying that there are different kinds of women. Not all women were a certain type of white woman.. not all women go through the same challenges..

    Hope that helps a little..
