This seems to be a common occurrence, and even more common the offender is the one who blocks the other person.
As for me, the answer is yes, but what do you expect on a public site that anyone can join?

    Internet anonymity seems to embolden those who think that makes for good communication and debate. At that point I may throw in one last retort, but usually just ignore. I am too lazy to block even if I did care that much.

    I have really been surprised at the number of disgusting, vile comments, insults and name calling (to me). Fortunately, there have been some really nice people and even some that even though we disagree, we are still civil, if not friendly. That's the way I like it.

    Twice by Christians constantly cussing over simple disagreements. The filth came out right away,. yet it's supposedly Atheists who are abusive and extreme. I could fill a whole page with videos and links proving the opposite.

    I don't understand why people who are against cyber bullying are not for blocking instead of against it.

    It is annoying how some people immediately resort to using profane slurs if you disagree with them.. I'm not saying this is limited to one group, I just think that's extremely rude and intolerant to do something like that. It sucks that normal people have to deal with others who refuse to hear a different point of view.. It's not like they have to agree with it.

    In the last part I am saying that a lot of people here on Sodahead are against blocking people from commenting on your questions and comments,. no matter how rude a person gets. And some of those people who are against blocking must be against cyber bullying which can get nasty and in some super extremes even dangerous. But usually people who are against cyber bullying are not for using Sodaheads blocking option no matter what.

    Blocking or not taking correspondence receiving messages is rude. You don't know they have blocked you writing a long letter. Push send, and it is gone - erased. That should not be tolerated. All blocking should be eliminated.

    I think blocking is a bit.. Unhelpful. It is useful if you don't want to hear from them again, BUT it seems like people shouldn't use it if they just disagree.. That's being immature. On top of that, the other person should be willing to hear another's opinion without immediately shutting them up like that. -Intolerant much?
    Besides, they might block you, and continue to say bad things about you, except now you can't defend yourself.. Some people are okay with that, but I just find it irritating.

    Communication is essential to learn. I have much to teach. It is when hatred thinks they will no longer have a hard hearts is when panic sets in blocking me so they can continue to be railing accusers, and scoffers without anyone teaching them to save their soul to not be that way. Others misjudge me because I have verses from the KJV bible. It brings back memories in them of how religion hurt them. I know loving truth. Religion for the most part is godless constantly against Jesus. They freak out blocking before they can find out I am their best friend. That hurts me.

    True; some people just won't listen.. :-/ Yet before that they use freedom of speech as an excuse to swear, and now they're stopping you from using your freedom of speech to even speak at all.. Hypocrites.. Oh well, they can be intolerant if they want to, so long as you know they're the one at fault.
