Obama's military leaders tried to ban Bibles at Walther Reed Hospital
http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/u-s-military...

In a Sept. 14 policy memorandum, Col. Chuck Callahan, chief of staff of Walter Reed National Medical Center, banned family members from bringing Bibles and other "religious items" when visiting wounded military personnel at the facility. http://cnsnews.com/news/article/walter-reed-banned-family-mem...

Washington, DC- Congressman Steve King and Senator Chuck Grassley met with senior leadership of the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center yesterday to discuss a recent memo released by the Medical Center prohibiting the use and distribution of Bibles and other religious materials during visits to wounded soldiers. After receiving the memo on December 2nd, King called Vice Admiral John Mateczun, Commander of the Joint Task Force National Capital Region Medical, and Rear Admiral Alton Stocks, Commander of Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, to Capitol Hill. King and Grassley were informed that the memo was worded improperly, that the Medical Center has rescinded the memo, and that a new memo will be drafted to affirmatively assert that religious items and artifacts are welcome in the hospital, if they are welcomed by the patient. King and Grassley released the following statements after the meeting:

"The meeting with Vice Admiral Mateczun, Rear Admiral Stocks, and Senator Grassley was productive because the Walter Reed staff has agreed to write a new rule that affirms a visitor's ability to bring Bibles and other religious material when they visit," King said. "I have asked to look over the new rule before it's officially released and that they identify the individual who is responsible for writing this unconstitutional nonsense."

"The Defense Department appears to have acted in good faith by retracting the original statement and releasing a statement of regret. I appreciate that officials are making efforts to get to the bottom of how this horrible language came about," Grassley said. "I look forward to seeing the new policy and will reserve judgment until that time."

Christians have been waging war on every other group since the inception of their faith for centuries. They are not the biggest whiners of all times and cannot even begin to understand the enormous amount of damage they have done to the other cultures of the planet.

It us about time for them to finally realize that they are not special or unique in any way and start being treated like every other person in society and stop receiving all the special rights they have been denying others for so long.

Perhaps you should look back on history and see just how christians have treated all the other group and cultures of the entire planet over the centuries. Christians have now become the biggest whiners of all time.

This does not seem to be the case here. It is becoming more difficult though, for Christians to be overt in their faith. Gone are the days when the Lord's Prayer is said first thing in school, or for that matter, the Pledge of Allegiance. These utterances hurt no one and should not be reviled because some are not Christians. Prayer to any other deity is not banned in public, except in other countries, and now we, a Christian nation, do not allow prayer to God. Shameful.

    Oh paleeze.

The policy was ambiguous, so they rescinded it. Not news, you can bring your Bible to Walther Reed Hospital and always could.

The Hospital was just trying to ban proselytizing (I totally agree with this wish), but it was, in their own words, "poorly written". It was not meant to ban the Bible, and it never did.
