Absolutely. :) I've also made total strangers smile just by the mere fact that I smiled at them first or even just looked them in the eye. I love it when that happens.

Yes, because of my work I meet many different people every day. Some of them are really funny.

Strangers from other offices, holding the elevator door for me.

When I was in college I worked part time at the local grocery store....very boring and mundane. Grab the item, pull it across the scanner...."BEEP" "BEEP' Then this customer comes thru my line and starts imitating all of the BEEPS and CLICKS and other noises coming out of my cashier equipment in a very loud voice, and at first I'm rolling my eyes completely annoyed, but before you know it he has me laughing so hard that between his loud "mechanical" noises and my hysterical laughter everyone at the front end of the store is looking at us, which makes me laugh even more, I am now laughing so hard that I'm crying, I can no longer read the numbers on the register, so I finally walk over to the manager's desk and plead with him to take over for a few minutes because I am temporarily incapacitated. This was 30 years ago and I still remember it like it was yesterday! I am grateful to that man, whom I never saw again, for one of the most cherished moments of my college years.

Yeah, Amen to that experience, Erin. I know it can happen that way because I have had many such experiences... phenomenal moments. Most all of us have... as you say.

Yes, every time I see a mother holding her child I smile

One I particularly remember was when I was having a terrible morning and I boarded a bus and got talking to this guy who totally changed my perspective in a matter of a few stops and I ended up having a great day.

At different times I married two of them. I messed up another relationship.I divorced my first wife. And messed up a a totally good person that I met. Ricochet romance.

That's a shame. However, you learned something. Like you, I wish I could go back in time to change a few things.

It's easy to make me smile. I love to see small acts of kindness, even when they don't involve me. If I even see someone give a generous tip, it will usually put a smile on my face for the rest of the day. It's just small things like that that restore my faith in people.

yes, one christmas my mother and i were shopping at best buy looking for something specific. so my mom walks up to a young guy with dimples wearing a best buy shirt and asks "do you work here?" the guy looked at us and very honestly said " no, i just like to walk around in a best buy shirt and ask if people need help". i about peed on myself, i would have dated that man instantly.

Probably one of the best stories I've heard recently, and (this will make no sense if you've never seen the Big Bang Theory) it reminds me of the episode where Sheldon is helping all of the customers in the electronics store, and he's being more helpful than the actual employees.
