"They should have relied on God and not me, Family Radio is not in the business of financial advice. They should turn to God and pray."

This what happens when people stop believing in God and put their trust in false prophets like Harold Camping! Obviously he is a false prophet and he's not bothered about his followers.

Whom to blame now? Harold or his followers?

Just another christian trying to make people think they have a straight connection to "God". But he was wrong, again. And what about the 1.8 million+ he suckered from his "followers" this time? Whats the refund policy in case the world didn't end? People have been waiting for the rapture for over 2,000 years now and idiots from time to time try and predict it... yes I know "No man shall know the hour" ....

Or it could be that the gospels/story of rapture were written while they were in Roman torture prisons, and they wanted to be saved, therefore they were describing the fall of the Roman Empire. The mark of the beast/legion... you couldn't buy/sell in Rome without the mark, Caesar was the beast that imprisoned them, and the story of Jesus is a combination/retelling of Pagan Gods myths (Mithra's, Dionysus....) tailor made for the time.

I hadn't heard that he suckered 1.8 million from his followers, but I can definitely believe it. Some how, it always gets back to money.

Only a fool would rely on advice like that. He proclaimed the end of the world and people believed him. This wasn't the first time the End will be proclaimed and it won't be the last and if you are stupid enough to buy into such tripe then you are all on your own.

If a surgeon cuts off the wrong leg, who is to blame? The surgeon. Why? Because the patient entrusted himself to the surgeon's care and expertise. If Mr Camping stands up and says he has been revealed a 'truth', and others take actions based on his 'revelation', then Mr Camping is the prime instigator of harm when said 'truth' turns out to be a total lie.

A doctor has a qualification - we have a REASON to trust him. We don't simply do surgery from a guy calling himself doctor. On the other hand, Harold is predicting something from nothing. The bible gives clear direction on whom to trust. It's so clear that the bible teaches that nobody knows the date and hour except God. So all bible students know (or should know) that nobody can predict the end.

I'm sorry, are you implying then that those who believed Mr Camping are to blame for the fact that Mr Camping lied to them?

Not really. I'm just saying that his followers should have trusted the bible more than trusting this guy who is obviously not bothered about them. I gotta feeling that this so called "prophet" is out there for money. He is just trying to brain-wash all his followers.

I suspect you are correct as to his pecuniary motivations.

As to the end of times, it comes to all humans in their own lifetimes, and no one can really know the time and place.

Yep, they are. How many times has the End of the World been proclaimed by supposed prophets and how many times have they been right? If you are going to fall for such idiocy then you pretty much deserve what's coming to you.

Matt. 24:24: “False Christs and false prophets will arise and will give great signs ] and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones.”
