Happy With Your Cell Phone Service?

Cell phones drop calls constantly in Los Angeles. I would think that a modern, 21st Century metropolitan like Los Angeles could support uninterrupted cell phone service -- but alas it doesn't. My cell phone service drops so many calls that people expect it as part of the conversation. We have protocols to call each other back and just continue the conversation like nothing happened.

    I once worked for the evil entity. The fact is they just don't have enough equipment to handle the traffic. It doesn't help anything that smart phone users are browsing the web and downloading video, etc., using all the bandwidth. It's going to get worse before it gets better.

    Actually, I rarely have a dropped call with my cell phone service. I'm not happy about their company policies, though.

    It's one of the most expensive of the entire Europe, but they are good. I pay 15 euros a month, and 10 euros of those 15 go away for internet. Mine is Vodafone, a British company.

    yes and no....I had used the same phone for several years, until it literally broke into pieces one day....hardly ever lost a call....the replacement phone is a new story....it drops more calls than a greasy-handed pass receiver...

    I'm satisfied with T-Mobile so far.
    I haven't bought a new phone or i-pod or anything, so I don't band-width issues or anything like that. Most places I go, there's good reception.

    No I am not and like you I get a few dropped calls at the most worst moments. I figured with all the new technology and all it would be better.

    Where I live in PA verizon is the best they have to offer. That being said, people expect me to drop them it is so frequent. They just wait and when I call back they continue the conversation like it never dropped. So, truthfully, I'm not happy, but I guess, I am as happy as I can be at this time. I do hope they improve it.

    mainly on price they keep going up and up and up ever since the mergers started happening. we had like 6 carriers afew years ago but sprint and at&t; started buying them up like mad and at&t; is still trying to buy tmobile and if that happens hello 100 bucks a month for the lowest price for a single person. the government although a-holes needs to step in under the anti-trust laws and make at&t; release cingular, verizon release alltel and sprint release nextel so we have competition again like this old commercial was for.

    I live in the Upper Pensinsula of Michigan. It is just under 16,500 square miles, and just under 300,000 people live here. (Not taking into consideration northern Wisconsin, which is equally as sparsely populated.) Because of the lack of population, cell phone service is nonexistent for much of the area, but I like it that way!!!

    I figure my cell phone is good for about 30% of the time I spend away from a land line. That's why I have a pay as you go Tracfone.

    What people for get it that the signal not only has to get from tower to tower but thrugh the air unhindered by the terrain If there are building built with certain materials or lines being used that interer with the signal you wont get anything. There would have changes made to standards in those things to get around it.

    Although I do live rurally (and my home is located between two towers .. which means I can lose service as I walk around the property) ..

    I at least get service when I need it .. (despite some overload of GPS when I would like to have it .. I can still get it pretty quick indeed).

    (For those that call me .. we know what it is like to live rurally .. so if we fall off line, we just call back and continue onwards -- no biggie .. just part of the rural life).

    We've had Verizon for over 15 years now, and before it was even Verizon. Never give any thought to a problem. Used it from west coast to east coast and north and south when I was rtorking installing POS sustems all over the country.

    Our plan has 3-4 smartphones on it w/ unlimited texting and it's about $180 I believe.
