Gwyneth Paltrow Talks About Her Marriage to Coldplay's Chris Martin in Harper's Bazaar: Does She Have the Ideal Female Body?

Harper's Bazaar has the latest scoop on GOOP goddess Gwyneth Paltrow -- but the magazine seems more intrigued by her yoga- and cleanse-toned body than her marriage to Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

A little excerpt: "As she falls naturally into yoga stretches during the course of the conversation, supple as a cat, you realize that this is a woman for whom working out has become essential," the article begins. "At 39, she looks stronger than she did in her 20s, lean and toned, with the streamlined contours of an athlete." Er, alright.

The mag goes on to explain that, "Today, like every other weekday morning, she has spent an hour and a half with her trainer, Tracy Anderson, doing dance aerobics and a precise series of exercises that changes every 10 days. The aim, she says, is "that you're muscular, but you don't get used to anything."

Harper's also grills the mother of two about the latest of her famous 12-week detox cleanses. "I have a lot of inflammation in my system, so I'm not having anything I'm allergic to -- no gluten, no dairy, no sugar," Gwyneth Paltrow says.

But here's the good part: Paltrow, who rarely talks about her famous hubby and is almost never seen with him, finally gives us a little bit of an inside peek at their relationship. "He's very communicative," she says, "which is rare for a British man." She continues, "I want to maintain my marriage and my family, so I have to be here when he comes home. ... you have to compromise. ... you have to be a wife, and that is part of the equation."

Her life may seem nauseatingly perfect, but Paltrow says one of her ex-boyfriends cheated on her "all the time." Hard to believe, huh? In any case, do you think Gwyneth Paltrow has the ideal female body?

Ideal? First of all, she's cute it's a woman's body and that's ideal enough for me. And at 30 and doing yoga, etc., she's very flexible and she probably has a lot of energy and stamina, which is always fun! That's numero uno. However, I am picky, and for me, I I'd like more thighs and ass on her. She has on high heels in this picture and that ass doesn't sit up. Doesn't even give a hint of sitting up.

She's healthy and fit. That is the ideal. I have an hourglass figure, with big hips, breasts and an ass, but everything on my body is skinny and toned. You can have curves and have an ideal body, or you can not have curves and have an ideal body.

To all those women who claim only REAL women have curves, let me quote you a little Jimmy Carr: "I was looking through the personal ads, and I have figured out that 'real woman' has become synonym with 'really fat woman'." Stop putting celebrities down to make you feel better. Oh, and in case you wanted to do that to Marilyn, she wasn't fat either. Sizes were measured differently back then.

She has a great figure for an actress, but real people should weigh more than that and have curves.

Unless you're so obese that you need to be carried by a crane... Then I'd consider working out.

She has an ideal body for Gwyneth Paltrow. Her job is to look good on camera, wear skinny dresses on red carpets, and obsess over everything she eats. (No glutten, no dairy, no sugar? I would be dead in a week!) Enough with the "ideal" shape for a woman! Think about what that is today; skinny everything but breasts and lips, which should be huge. (That makes Pamela Anderson or a drag queen the perfect woman!)

Love her, but since when is sickeningly thin considered 'ideal'? She's beautiful of course... but I think I would prefer to have more curves.

There isn't an "IDEAL" female body. She looks good. People need to stop judging others, celebrity or not, on how their bodies look. Enough already!

uhm... she is not nearly curvy enough to be considered my "ideal" body... maybe more boobs, bigger hips, an actual bum and a few inches more of meat on her bones would bring her closer to "ideal" but she is thin and healthy so good for her i guess, we all need to make do with what our mothers gave us ^ ^

That question is so oddly written.

But anyway, no. I mean, she's attractive and healthy, great! But she's not the body type that I prefer.

Don't get me wrong, though. I think she's gorgeous. But we're just talking about the "ideal female body" here, in which case I think she is not a recipient.

I would say the "ideal" is closer to the paintings "Birth of Venus" (William-Adolphe Bouguereau) or Leda and the Swan(Leonardo da Vinci). Feel free to look them up, I tried to include the links here, but it just showed the images instead of the links, which I didn't want.

Be warned, there is nudity, but they're classical paintings, so that's par for the course.

How many women or men for that matter have the luxury of spending so much time and energy on maintaining that type of workout routine?

"Ideal" is too subjective. What is ideal to one person may not be to someone else. I think she is attractive and in great shape. Yoga is good for that. Might be a bit skinny though.

Once you get past those nice long 5ft legs you get to a rather formless anorexic torso.

sure, like i said she has awesome looks and a great ass, but that's not the question here. the question that we're all supposed to be answering here was "does she have the IDEAL body", and she does not.
