As shown by multiple exchanges on Yahoo! Answers, women and girls don't like it. If you're trying to appeal to other gay guys, tho, go ahead. Old queens like me will appreciate it!

My own opinion is that if you want to post shirt-free shots, go ahead, but do it discreetly. Never, ever as your avatar--unless and until you're a pro bodybuilder or pro underwear model, and maybe even not then. And in your general section, the lack of a top should be incidental, not the focus. The picture sb of you w/ friends at the beach, at a party, water-skiing--not of "Me, shirtless".

If you want to pose to show off the abs, your weight loss, your progress toward the local bodybuilding or fitness contest, whatever, set up a clearly labeled subfolder for the series. And then put in as many as you want.

Not exactly inappropriate, I just don't like to look at it because it makes me automatically think "what a douche bag" because it's just like a girl posing in her bikini or something...

its their right. They aren't showing anything inappropriate, I see tons of very revealing avatars here by both sexes whether its them or something they chose to use ..either way its nothing you wouldn't see if they was working outside, fixing something, checking the mail, at the beach..I do not see it as inappropriate at all..now is there any reason they should need to on here?? NO..but their right and choice

I picked the wrong answer,...I meant the top one..cuz its not inappropriate..but not really "acceptable"...but again, i stand by it being their right

Technically, there's nothing in the Constitution that allows you to go around shirtless. Just saying.

that may be but is their anything thats there that says you aren't allowed to either?? Just asking?

Well, indecent exposure is against the law, and there are children on this site. Plus, it hurts my eyes to see an ugly guy shirtless. Thats cruel and unusual punishment. :,(

    Lmaoooo

Okay..thats where its actually a matter of opinion because a man is not committing indecent exposure by being shirtless..even is if is horrible to look at and I am not saying that I agree with it but in reality shirtless men are everywhere and its not illegal or indecent exposure by the law or they wouldn't be able to leave their house shirtless...they are jogging in the same parks kids are on swings..i am not saying its morally right but its not against any law

cruel and unusual...then you aren't seeing the right shirtless men..js :P

Indecent exposure? since when has it been considered indecent or for that mater harmfull to children to see a person with their shirt of. There are cultures that thing nothing of not wearing ant clothes at all. surely you are just trying to impose your own inhibitions on others by insisting on something like this?

Women aren't allowed to go shirtless. And they don't look proper without a shirt. Its called "self-respect".
  • Robbb 666_Mag... 2013/11/28 20:06:40

I have seen lots of women that are perfectly respectable without their shirts or anything else on top. Some are attractive to me some are not. there are also many cultures where women walk around with nothing covering their tops. the things that make a person respectable does not come from that which cover their body. but that which comes from their mind.

To me, its about both presentation and the mind. I can't take you seriously if you don't look proper.

Buuuuttttt....in US Law, indecent exposure is against the law. :D

Indecent exposure may be, and that which is indecent exposure is also debatable under the law, depending what state you happen to live in. There is Quite a bit of nudism in the USA and there are many places where it is fine to bare all in public. However we are not talking about nudism here we are talking about a man with his shirt of. Traditionally it has always been deemed fine for a man to remove his shirt especially when working in hot weather.. i have no problem with not wearing a shirt and neither do my grand daughters which is becoming a bit of a worry with one of them. she recons if it is UK for the men then why is it not OK for her. I am sure she is not seeing it from a sexual point either. this Not so much from my point of view but from those that are inordinately prudish.

I find it inappropriate. I mean really, its not hard to keep your shirt on. -_- I work on a farm with long sleeves on (you can use bug spray, and its to protect my arms from getting bitten). Working in the hot sun isn't an excuse.
  • Robbb 666_Mag... 2013/11/28 23:47:20
    Robbb
The fact is that when I am in the hot sun I make a point of putting on a shirt because getting burnt is just not good for you. The problem I have however is understanding just what it is that is inappropriate about a chest that is not covered. Granted there are no doubt many occasions where one is expected to dress in a certain way and where it is wise to do so. after all clothing is originally meant to act as protection, However you are talking as there is some sort of decency involved and I just cant get my mind around that concept. and never have.

That's not true. Indecent exposure is usually a state or local ordinance. There's no federal law against indecent exposure.

There is a two week limit. After two weeks, a poll is dead. Do not resurrect it. Unless the post is about Jesus. It's normal for Jesus.
