Actually .. whatever is at hand and easiest to start when I get home ..
(and I always keep some charcoal on hand in my storm kits along with extra propane tanks)
We use charcoal and mesquite in our big pit that we pull behind our truck,but we also have a small pit that uses propane.We are set for any and all outdoor cooking.Plus if my husband cooks outside I don't have to cook so much inside.Makes me happy.
