Well the obvious answer is hate.
But hate can also be caused by deeper things such as jealousy (which is caused by insecurity), selfishness, immaturity, etc.
People need to start loving more! It doesn't matter if it's your lover or a stranger, there should be more love in the world (:
Immaturity. With immaturity comes insecurity, jealousy and selfishness. I think both people have to be able to put their partner's needs ahead of their own to survive as a couple. Takes wisdom and perseverance that come with maturity.
I don't think it's hate; I think it's fear. Fear of loving, fear of rejection, fear of differences, fear of anything which keeps you from opening your heart to love.
In some cases it can be an X boyfriend or X girlfriend : )
Mostly it is unpacked old baggage someone can bring into a new relationship however, some friends have stated to me it was older or teenage children.
So I guess you can say a heck of a lot of things can be an enemy to new love : )
I'd say apathy because it's the opposite of love.
