In case you are wondering, Nairobi is a dangerous place to visit right now. Before Jan 2008 it was risky, many thefts especially if you obviously are a tourist. Since Jan there have been riots, killings, lots of burnings. Tourists are not the targets in the current tensions but it is easy to get caught in the wrong place at the wrong time. I know because four little thugs (about 14 years old) jumped me at my gate and when they found I was not carrying money one of them broke my shoulder with his bare hands. Still, I love the place and the weather is always pleasant.
