More than 100 Fayetteville High School juniors and seniors will be attending prom because of Project Glass Slipper, which provides them with a free ticket, dress (including alterations), shoes, and accessories. Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
My daughters pay check went for the Prom.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
This is a good program for some, but yes the average girl spends way too much time and money on just another school dance.I think...
It's a once in a lifetime event. Spend according to what you can afford, but don't be stingy, just prudent.I think...
WOW! What an amazing organization!@! My sister is going to prom this year and is a junior. We live in Pennsylvania. Our school's prom is on May 15th, and she has not gotten ad ress yet due to her bust size. So it is very difficult for her to find a dress. I wish we had a program up here so we could ghelp those girls with a bigger bust find the dress thy want .. . .Great Post!! Allin all, I think that prom is a once in a .lifetime probably twice in a lifetime for most girls, so no because the look that these girls have on their faces when they arrive at their prom is going to priceless.!! so as long as they are happy .. . . .no !!!I think...
I think a prom is one of those once-in-a-lifetime events that should be memorable and if a parent can afford to give their daughter(s) a memorable prom experience (whatever that may cost) all the better! My hat's off to the Glass Slipper Project in Arkansas for providing that experience to needy students!Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
but I like that this charity is making it easier for the people that want to go to prom because to some people it's a HUGE deal. I for one don't plan on going but, at least a charity is helping those who do.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Prom has gotten ridiculous, and we have let it get that way. That being said, the Glass Slipper Project sounds like it at least has it's heart in the right place.
I think...
Shouldn't it be Do Girls Parents spend too much on Proms. Aboslutely, young people today are self absorbed, pampered and coddled. When they get out on thier own it will be a disaster because they do not know how to actually work. Bear in mind there are some that do but the majority I meet are walking disasters....Ever see My Sweet Sixteen in MTV , Parents spending 20 grand on a 16th birthday party.. Our socieity is doomed...Oh and don't forget to buy a dress that sho.ws off your tramp stamp and nipple piercing so you show just how Unique you really aren't.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
As a father that had to pay for my girls prom, hell yeah.I think...
Proms are getting ridiculous. $130 for tickets, $150 for dinner, $200 per person for a limo, $100 to $250 for a tuxedo, $150 to ??? for a dress, $ 100+ for flowers and whatever you want to spend on the after prom party. What kid in High School has that kind of money? That is before you spend more money for graduation and related expenses.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Some girls do, some guys do? What does it matter?Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Of course I do, but I'm a man, and therefore incapable of understanding. ;)Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
My friend spent over 1000 dollars on her entire prom night. It was insane. Its one night, you don't need to blow that much money on it.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Maybe it's just me, but I don't see the whole point of prom. I personally rather spend that money on good novels or video games haha. :) A few people from my school spent about $1000+ on a dress, $300 for heels and whatever else there is that they need. That is a lot of money, some even more than what some people earn on a monthly basis.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Of all the things that this money can be going into, I hardly think that tarting up teenage girls for a night of foot-blisters and crappy music is one of the more worthy on the list.I think...
it honestly depends on the girl. Most don't but there are some that spend money on it like it was a wedding or something. It depends on the person. My prom cost me a grand total of $250. That included the dress, tickets and everything.
Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS...Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Some people just over do it for prom if you ask me. It's pricey but not that pricey for the things you actually need. No, girls don't spend too much money on prom
Nope prom is the one thing u have to spent a ton of money onNo, girls don't spend too much money on prom
Never to much, you only get one senior prom. The memories will last the rest of your life, there is never to much. Do it up right.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
I did not go to Prom ... I just wasn't into it.But ...
The Glass Slipper Project is a wonderful program!
Every girl that wants to go to Prom should feel absolutely beautiful and special ...
not just the rich ones.
Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
I dont even want to GO to prom. No, girls don't spend too much money on prom
Prom is a thing you remember all your life. If a few extra bucks is called for and you've got it, give it up. I never went to mine (reverse arrogance) and I'm glad my girls were able to go and wear what they wanted. We aren't rich by any means but we saw it was important to them and coughed up some extra cash.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
but im the mother of 3 girls and thay are gown up now but man do thay costNo, girls don't spend too much money on prom
moderated...I think...
Girls always spend to much money. Whats wrong with that?Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
I saw a piece on TV this morning regarding this project and thought this was such a good thing. I can remember girls at my g'daughters schools parents paying mega-bucks for their prom dresses and my g'daughter had a fabulous dressmaker make all hers at an affordable cost not withstanding that my g'daughter designed her own and they were absolutely breathtaking. Some families simply can't afford them. I noted one of the girls had lost her Mother and her aunt was raising her and couldn't afford a prom dress for her.
I think...
Probably but if it is important to them (it isn't to some) Go for it.I think...
Prom is gay...Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Wouldn't it make a helluva lot more sense to give homeless and needy students FOOD??? If your gonna give them something.....why does it have to be so lame. I'm sure they'd rather have FOOD!I think...
It's such a special thing. I'm homeschooled so i'll probably never go to prom. But I know if I did go to school I would want to go to prom and I would want it to be perfect. And perfection takes money. lolI think...
that it's a once in a lifetime thing.i didn't want to go to prom( we have a sophmore/ junior prom), but i was asked by my friends and i went and you know what? we probly looked like the dorkiest ones with the way we were dancing, but i bet you that if i hadn't gone and had the time of my life, i'd be kicking myself for not going.
it's like getting married or having a confirmation.
it's once in a lifetime.
I think...
It's all a matter of who you are. If you carry a Juicy purse, and you have diamond studs, then yes, you are more likely to spend more money on Prom. I had a blast for Prom, because me and a couple of friends got together, did each others hair and makeup, made dinner together, and just went and had a good time. Altogether, including my dress, it was about $300, which is a pretty big estimate. but the dress was $180, to be fair. It's just about who you are, and what you're like.Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Duh!Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
I got a $150 dress that was marked down from $400 bucks! I really tried to save money. My shoes were $10 flats from Target (lol) and I did my hair myself. I was the only girl that had an actual ball gown, though. I felt stupid.I spent $30 on a mani and pedi, $15 on an eyebrow/facial wax, and $25 on a spray-on tan.
This is kinda what my dress looked like:
"A. You have to PAY to rent me a tux. B. I don't have a job so you'd have to PAY for tickets, meals, gas, and a corsage C. Who am I going to ask? I don't know anyone that well. D. A prom is a dance with a bunch of people that I don't really care for and I can't dance. So why would I even consider it?"
The subject was never brought up again.
Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
But I believe the Glass Slipper project is a worthy cause. Many people don't attend prom (or any social engagements) while in school because of financial reasons. While seemingly mindless activities, they do add to the memories and sharing of the common experience.
Yes, girls spend too much money on prom
Yes it is a right of passage but damn, too much money is spent on one night!
