'Girls'-Inspired Nail Polish Is Happening: Should TV Shows Have Nail Polish Lines?

The popular and often controversial HBO series "Girls" is getting its own line of... nail polish. Yeah, kind of random. From what I can tell, nail polish doesn't have a huge presence on the show, but it's not completely unrelated -- the collection is inspired by the show's four lead female characters.

You could get "Hapless Hunter Green" inspired by the main character Hannah, "Prim and Proper Pink" inspired by Marnie, "Virtuous Vivid Violet" inspired by Shoshanna or "Bohemian Burgandy" inspired by Jessa.

The collection won't be available until the season two premiere on January 13, but what do you think? Does this sound like something special...or is it just another marketing scheme?

I don't think it should be mandatory for every show or something like that, but if they want to have them go ahead! I like nail polish, and if it's for your favourite show you could enjoy it even more! It's a good marketing scheme too.

Sure, why not? There are tv show inspired commodities everywhere (marketers have very little imagination). Toys, games, perfumes, food. Ain't no big thing.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. It will go the way of most of these things, gone and rightfully forgotten.

I don't see why not... If individuals like Brittany Spears and Sean John can have lines then the only reason to say 'Girls' shouldn't is to limit their collective power. Other than dislike or jealousy why would you feel that way?
