Sophia Ellison, a Best Buy Geek Squad customer, alleges the Fairfax, Virginia store's employee violated her privacy. Ms. Ellison says the Geek Squad employee took and kept copies of images from her smartphone when she paid the employee to transfer her photos, phone numbers and email addresses to her new iPhone.

Ms. Ellison said the photos and videos included racy personal photos of her modeling. The phone also had a of her young children joking after getting out of the shower.

"A few days later, he called back to tell me he'd made a CD at his house with all my photos, and when can I come get them. I could pick them up at his house," Ellison tells WTOP. "I felt sick. I felt violated. I felt so embarrassed," Ellison said.

I used to work for Kodalux... and I worked the enlarger machine. The guys would often make their own copies of things and I absolutely freaked out finally. I always said that they shouldn't do it, but I was outnumbered. When I finally grew some courage, I tore down their wall of glory and told my boss that if they kept one more copy of a customer's private photos that I would call the customer and tell them myself. Of course, that made me a pariah at work...

I've worked as a tech in the past & you could always tell when someone had a x rated video stuck in the VCR cause they wanted it fixed right then and there and always acted embarrassed. Never leave racy pix or videos of a personal nature on your phone or internet files unless you want the world to see them.

But I'm fairly sure it's part of the job to not do anything of that sort. The guy'll get fired and never have a hope of getting another job where even remotely sensitive information is nearby.

It's dumb enough to snag them, it's mind boggling that he'd let anyone know, and why he'd tell the person he stole the pictures from he got them I can't understand. How stupid do you have to be to do that?!

I don't care who sees my photos or movies, there is nothing in my phone or computer I am not proud of. The worst thing they will see is my x girl going down on me if I forgot to erase it or a few nude pictures of her and some Christmas pictures.

The Best Buy employee was not only a snoop but an idiot. He should be fired and Best Buy should prepare for a lawsuit.

But then again I have to wonder why the hell you would leave photos/texts that would be of an incriminating nature on your phone to begin with it would be the same if she lost her phone. In a weird way she's lucky it was Best Buy and not some nitwit who would have blasted them all over the web at least with this she should have some leverage with Best Buy. Phones are phones and best to be used as phones not cameras or PC's.

I agree, you want to take racy pix of yourself use a camera. W/ todays digital cameras you can download your pix yourself and the only people who see them are the ones you want to see 'em.

I'm usually a trustworthy person. In all my years I've been hurt or shafted about half dozen times. That's not to say it did more than irritate me. Having said that the thousands of transactions in my lifetime more than make up for the trust I put in people.

Exactly. I want to feel sorry for her, but I can't. She set herself up for this to happen. Trust NO ONE when it comes to strangers. Especially when it comes to handing nude photos of yourself to a bunch of young guys.
