Gay people should be treated with dignity and respect, but their sexual behavior is unnatural and morally illicit. In other words, hate the sin while loving the sinner. That's fair, isn't it?

"They (homosexual persons) must be accepted with respect, compassion, and
sensitivity. Every sign of unjust discrimination in their regard should
be avoided" (Catholic Catechism, no. 2358) ...

... but ...

"
Basing itself on Sacred Scripture, which presents
homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has
always declared that 'homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered.' They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the
gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual
complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved" (Catholic Catechism, no. 2357).

Our sexual behavior is as beautiful, affirming, loving, and natural as heterosexual sexual behavior. Our sexual behavior is not "morally illicit" any more than heterosexual sexual behavior. So "hate the sin while loving the sinner" is nothing more than mental gymnastics for bigots who cannot admit to themselves their own bigotry.

thats a big pet peeve of mine. all the vague accusations. what are these "special" and "superior" treatments and rights that the gays are asking for? . . . . no real answer. it seems to be just fear mongering and ignorance running amok

The opposition is trying to say that gays have the right to go marry someone of the opposite sex, and therefore have the same protection already. Gays marrying would be something we would have to write INTO law. But they are retards, because everywhere across the nation they try to legislate against gays, and they have no problem adding pages to the lawbook to ban gays from equal rights.

They also forget that there are millions of same sex families in America already. Are they suggesting they should break these families so that they can remarry someone of the opposite sex. They truly are retarded, and it's just a matter of time before equality wins.

They are just stupid and need to fix their own issues and mend their own faulty marriages.
well first off. . . if marriage is so sacred and important. then why do people go and make a mockery of it in Vegas and why is the divorce rate so bad. So obviously they don't take marriage seriously. And second. they have the right to be who they are and marry into a heterosexual partnership. . . because they are heterosexual. Why shouldn't gays have the same equal right to be who they are and marry into a gay relationship. They try so hard to make it confusing when really its not.

And EVEN IF it was some outlandish gay plan to get a "special" right. . . . . so what. . . . what difference does it make to anybody. . . . the only people that are going to do it are gay people and straight people are gonna keep whoring around getting pregnant. . . daddies aren't going to pay the child support. and the divorce rate is going to continue skyrocketing. . . and none of that has anything to do with the gays.

Why should we pay taxes to a government who does not give us equal protection under the law? There are millions of same sex couple with children in America. Why don't they get the same protection that the constitution promises? the government demands us to file joint tax returns, but our marriages are not recognized.

Totally, absolutely and unequivocally wrong and totally against all that is normal and natural on this planet.

The church needs to step out of the dark caves of antiquity and out of biology and deal with religion. Science, information and knowledge has the answers to sexual orientation.

Christians worship a God of righteousness not "if it feels good do it". These are a "FEW" of the things we hate:

28Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, he gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. 32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them.

  • jean RobinPeta 2012/06/22 00:27:26

No all religions do not worship god(s) or righteousness. My God came to save us and brought HIS credentials with HIM. They were witnessed by a whole nation of people and their testimonies were written down for us today. What other religion claims this?

Your OK with Child molesters though? The Bible has no standard in a modern society .
  • RobinPeta The Judge 2012/06/18 21:16:28

And child molestation is natural. It happens in nature all the time. We become sexually mature at 12 so that's when we naturally should mount young girls. But somehow we don't always follow what is natural or unnatural.

I am not ok with child molestation. I was merely pointing out that we don't always accept what is natural or unnatural. Call homosexuality what you want, but we shouldn't ban or allow homosexuality based on how natural or normal it is.

Homosexuality doesn't hurt anyone, so I don't understand why people have a problem with it. We should have more issue with things that truly hurt people. Like religion, unfair taxation, war, and all kinds of injustice. Not harmless homosexuality.

Not sure that is completely true. It might be true in some backwards places (where religion is prevalent), but not the country as whole.
  • The Judge RobinPeta 2012/06/18 22:49:58
    The Judge
    This is what i found
In the United States the District of Columbia and every state, except Rhode Island, have some form of codified incest prohibition.[28] However, individual statutes vary widely. Rhode Island repealed its criminal incest statute in 1989,[28] Ohio only targets parental figures,[28] and New Jersey does not apply any penalties when both parties are 18 years of age or older.[28] Massachusetts issues a penalty of up to 20 years' imprisonment for those engaging in sexual activities with relatives closer than first cousins[28] and Hawaii up to 5 years in jail for "sexual penetration" with certain blood relatives and in-laws.[28]

In all states, close blood-relatives that fall under the incest statutes include father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, brother, sister, aunt, uncle, niece, nephew, and in some states, first cousins, although Rhode Island allows uncles to marry their nieces if they are part of a community, such as orthodox Jews, for whom such marriages are permitted. Many states also apply incest laws to non-blood relations including stepparents, step-siblings, and in-laws.[29]

UCLA law professor Eugene Volokh has questioned the rationale behind laws prohibiting incest, at least as they apply to sex between adults
  • RobinPeta The Judge 2012/06/18 23:02:11

Doesn't say anything about what the people thinks. And just because the law is weird in places doesn't mean the people support it.
  • RobinPeta The Judge 2012/06/18 23:02:55

And 50% of Americans are ok with same sex marriage, probably even more are ok with homosexuality. I highly doubt that 50% of Americans would be ok with incest.

Many are unfortunately. That is why they hide in places where they can access children freely.

    FACTUAL STATS

"One out of every six boys are molested. Out of that, number, 40% of the molesters of boys are female. 60% of the molesters are homosexual pedophiles, and that makes is roughly so that homosexual pedophiles, are molesting 1 out of every 12 boys (rough estimate,) Considering that gays themselves only make up 3%-10% of the population, the number of homosexuals who molest is huge.'

If homosexuality were abnormal, there would not be animals which engage in homosexual acts.
  • RobinPeta Mark 2012/06/18 21:19:18
    RobinPeta
If you did a little research on the subject you'd learn that even homosexual animals end up eventually mating and having offspring. Gay humans, many times thanks to religion, end up having heterosexual relationships with offspring. The stigma that religion has put on homosexual individuals have made them form traditional families (usually unhappy and dysfunctional). So homosexuality, if genetically inherited, is not weeded out because of "infertility" like many people think.
