I'm for gay marriage as it's secular and I don't approve of forcing religious views on society as a whole.

They're not forcing any church to do so they're merely making state gov make it available that's it. Also not all religions are against same sex marriage so your point is moot.

well obviously you have never heard of some news where gays have walked into church asked that they get married by the preacher, then go cry like big fat sucky babies to the govermnment even though they started the ordeal

And was the church ever forced to marry them? thats a good point, but, like i said in another comment (not replying to you) gays won't go to jail for being gay, as it is, so what the hell is the purpuse of legalizing marriage, how i see it is they are trying to get under christians skin.

One for the symbolic meaning of secular marriage, two not all people are Christian therefore laws aren't goin to reflect merely just Christian beliefs and three like I said not all religions or even Christians for that matter are against ssm so again your point is moot.

One it's the symbolism of marriage, two secular marriage is marriage the term civil union is just an attempt to be separate but equal and as history tells us that never goes well, three other religions like mine for example perform same sex marriage ceremonies but some states stop us from practicing that part of our religion so that turns it into a first amendment issue in those cases, lastly that definition is outdated it's from a time when only a few religions had any sizable numbers in western society those days are gone and definitions are being tweaked to reflect modern day society.

Now as for the topic of same sex marriage I believe you have the right to not perform ssm ceremonies in your churches that's fine it's your religion and church and state are separate, but that goes both ways and you have no right to use your religious beliefs to justify not allowing others equality under secular law.

Your religious views have no say in secular law it's called separation between church and state that goes both ways government cannot force you to believe or follow anything but you in turn cannot force your spiritual/religious views onto society through the law. Also like I told you on a previous post I do not tolerate preachers or missionaries of any sort so I don't need to hear bout your views.
