I'm going to make this clear and simple.

Honestly if both sides of this debate woud just sit down, shut up and talk civilly to eachother you might find there is more common ground than you think.

Personally I think that some of the people who spew the rhetoric and nonsense of the "Christian" right and "Moral?" majority need to take a long hard look at themselves and find out why consensual acts by people other than their particular group give them so much angst. The group names are in quotes because I have serious reservations about their morality and/or Christianity. Before I am stoned as an heretic let me remind people that Christ was inclusive, it is mankind who has made his church exclusive.

As a lesbian and MTF i find the acts of SOME heterosexuals discusting. Sit in any mall food court and watch the het teens all huggy, kissy and who knows where his hand is going under the table. This is exactly the kind of behaviour that would get many of us in the LGBT community crucified for public indecency but since these are Het teens we are talking about then it is ok? That in itself is discriminatiory.

The majority of Gays I know are not that forward with their affections. I see nothing wrong with holding the hand of your partner or giving them a peck on the cheek when you part ways (you dont see the LGBT community up in arms when the straights do it.). If you are going to live as an integral part of a 21st century western society then you will see things that you may not agree with. That being said it does not give you the right to ram your twisted morality down mine or anyone else's throat.

WHy do the heterosexuals have to marry? Read the bible, there is nothing in the older translations about having to stand before a priest or some other religious figure just to have things consecrated. In ancient times the betrothal was the bonding with the wedding feast just stating that the couple had reached the age where they could be together.

It does not take marriage to procreate, a fact that mankind has know for hundreds of thousands of years. The commandment is go forth, be fruitful and multiply. No where does it state but first ye shall marry. I dont think the word even comes into the bible until St. Paul in the New testament, and that is in the context of a celibate church.

Burianek, if you dont want to read and hear about LGBT rights then find someplace that has no TV, Newspapers, Radio, Internet or phones. It is a fact of life in 21st century western society. We are here, have always been here, and always will be here. What we ask and demand as citizens of the USA is the same rights and freedoms that other citizens regardless of age, race, color, creed, national origin, sex have. Many companies, several states and slowly federal legislation is beginning to recognize sexual orientation and gender identity. This is a process that will be very hard to stop once it gains a set of legs and some grass roots momentum. Most of Europe, All of Canada(from the federal level) and several other countries have gender neutral and gender inclusive laws. It seems to me that this country likes to wallow in its abysmal human rights record while trying to tell the world how great it is.

Wah Wah Wah!!! Who cares? I don't care. Shoot, if it's such a 'big deal' then just move to one of those stupid states that's ok with it and shutup already about your gayness.

because you have that right to move.......a few years ago it didn't matter.........take what you can get and call it good.......anything more than that it sounds like your whining and in need of special rights..not equal rights......

Because... you want your little rights? Go find them, where they are offered. Stop trying to force those of us who are against them, to have to deal with it. Just because I was born, does not mean that I have to accept the doings, of every other person. You want to go be gay and get the benefits? Fine... just do it REALLY far away from me.

You dont wan to be gay, I dont want to be transexual and lesbian. We are and there is nothin we can do about it. We and our partners learn to live with it. We move on with our lives knowing we have this thing that few others wish to understand.

part of what i was saying is that some people just don't get that being gay IS NOT a choice.

You make me sick, you suppose that just because someone has a different sexual orientation as you, or has a chromasomal issue that causes them to be a woman trapped in a man's body or the other way around, that you have some God given right to slander us, force your twisted morality down OUR throats.

Hey I have a better idea bigot, you move to where there are lots more of your kind, and hang out a sign that says no women's libbers, gays, lesbians, transexuals, communists, blacks and um any other deviants need enter(go ahead try it the ACLU, HRC and others would have a field day with it). That way you can wallow in your bigotry and let the rest of the world get on with the business of living. That would fit your criteria of doing it far from you because you would be far from us.

Emotional much? I do believe that you are trying to force me to accept your way of life. It's my God given right not to. If you want someone to accept it, then go find them. You don't have the power to run around and say, 'you will accept and agree with my lifestyle, even though you find it appauling'. You don't have the authority to change my moral views. If YOU want acceptance, then it is up to YOU, to seek it out. It's not my job to go against my beliefs, just to make you feel more comfortable and accepted. You can't deal with it? Oh well!!!

Here's the BIG difference... I don't care what you think of me, or how I live. I'm not telling you to accept anything about me. I'm not running around saying you have to be a hetero, you have to accept me and you have to give me all of these extras. You have just as many rights as anyone else. You can marry any adult, of the opposite gender that you want, but you want to hook up with someone like you... and thus, ask that the laws be changed to accomodate you because you want to change the variety. That's asking for extras; for special privileges and I won't sit here and say I'm for it and that I will support it and there's nothing that will change that. Like I said, you want your special extras, go find them and go drive up someone else's taxes.
