I live 2.2 miles from work and use $50.00 in gas monthly for my truck. My car is used for longer drives and I use about $40.00 a month

once a month....and isn't it convenient that it's coming down months before an election cycle?

Presidential policy has very little control over gas prices. It is dictated by world demand. http://www.nytimes.com/2012/0...

yes and no...prices for the most part are made months in advance...however right now Saudi Arabia is pumping out more than usual right now...bringing the price down...and when oil company speculators contract out at this price the price will be lower in the upcoming months...

Give or take every 10 days or so, if I want to or not. It's the only way to get to and from work.

Except for the fact, most places are not in walking distance in GA. :P

Let's see 26 miles at 3 mile per hour it would only take you 8.6 hours to walk to and another 8.6 hours to walk home, Combined with a 9.5 work day, I'm guessing your are a magician and can create a 26.8 day. Too bad that sleep, eating, or anything else would be impossible with your brilliant plan.

It doesn't really matter if La was referring to US or Australian dollars. It's either $1.28 or $1.29. The use the metric system in every other country so it's probably the price per liter not gallon. That would be 4.86 USD per gallon though, so idk.

Thanks -- I didn't think of that. I just looked up the Australian dollar and it's trading right at the American dollar.

I'm pretty sure they're just about equal right now ;) Aussie dollar is quite strong. And petrol is down to $1.19! I'm dying from shock. I haven't seen it that low for at least 3 years.

Unless you feel once per week is often.

To inject some politics into this question: When they were sky high and over 4/gal, cons went out of their to blame Obama even though in 2008, when Bush had them over 4/gal they said there was no way a president could influence gas prices.

Will they now congratulate Obama for getting them down to about $3.50? NO!

Obama has little to do with it.

Here's a good read on the subject.

Because I walk or take the bus-but maybe the bus fare might decrease, or maybe it stays the same and takes plus/negative.

Shrug. But 70 bucks a month is less than car payments, insurance, and what this article is talking about: gas.

You're spending $70 a month on bus tickets???? Oh god that's crazy. If I had to get the bus 5 days a week for a month, it would cost me....hrmm....$40 max.... >.> Do you get student rates?
